Hi, I tried to change the default install location for games in Lutris to another drive as the drive my OS is on was getting full, after changing the game install path and also wine prefix location I was unable to get a game to install any where other than the default location /home/.wine I changed everything back to the way is was, freed up some space and tried to install a game, which failed with an error about IsDone.dll, I had 23GB free at the time and the game needed 2GB. I uninstalled lutris and wine and renamed the .wine folder to .wine.old and renamed all remaining Lutris folders. I reinstalled wine and Lutris, I ran into the same issue with IsDone.dll. I remove lutris and wine again deleted the new folders that were created and changed .old back to what they were. I then installed wine and lutris again. My games installed piror to this issue are running fine. I installed a new game and this time used the default system\wine runner and the game installed, I then uninstalled the game and then tried with the lutris runners and ran into the IsDone.dll message again. I tried downloading a few more lutris runners and had the same problem. If I install with system\wine runner then change runner to lutris after install the game will hang or crash. The game will run fine with system\wine runner. Ive spend a few hours on this so far and was thinking about reinstalling my OS, any help you give me would be gratefully appreciated.
That half worked, I cant install using Wine-6,20-GE-1, I still run into the issue with isDone.dll, I can install using the default system runner, but game now runs when I switch runner back to Wine-6,20-GE-1 when before any new installs would crash when ran with anything other than the default system runner. Thanks for your help.
I extracted wine-6,20-GE-1, into /home/USERNAME/.local/share/lutris/runners/wine/
I also tried it as you suggested and had it in a folder in my downloads called runners and pointed lutris towards wine64 When I was unable to install a game using it as you asked I then extracted to the default lutris folder. Both ways still gave me the isdone.dll error.
Did you get the isdone.dll error installing Epic Games Store? Also what is your hardware config (cpu, amount of ram and cpu)? isDone.dll errors seem common with many Windows games installation so it is not a Linux issue and in some cases is related to insufficient temp space or ram (pagefile size in Windows) or using a corrupt install image (downloaded image when game required a CD for installation).
Also, can you get a screenshot of the exact isdone.dll error you are seeing and which game you are trying to install that gives this error? Do you see the same error in Windows?
I did get the error installing epic games store. Ive tested 10 games so far and all fail to install with isdone.dll if using anything other than the default system runner. The games install fine under windows and using the default system runner in Linux its just any of the other runners that cause the issue when trying to install. The below error I got when trying to install Starbound with Lutris-ge-6.20-1
CPU: 5800x
RAM: 32GB
GPU: RTX 2080
good morning,
I'm trying to install some very compressed game packages using different PCs (for example: Ace Combat 7 Skies Unknown v1.0.1 (Monkey Repack) [FitGirl Repack] and RESIDENT EVIL 2 Deluxe Edition + 9 DLCs [FitGirl Repack]).
If I use the sandboxie, a very common error appears regarding two isdone.dll and unarc.dll libraries that promptly disappears by installing the package outside the sandbox.
thank you
Hi, it is a common error you can come across when you install anything software or game on PC using Windows 10 or 8. The 'isdone.dll' error might be caused when the registry in your computer has been destroyed or damaged and the 'unarc.dll' file error can occur when a program is not able to locate and use this file. Both the error can be fixed easily and differently. Both isdone.dll and unarc.dll errors actually can be fixed to fix isdone.dll you need not run registry cleaner if still, it doesn't work try a step by step solution to fix isdone.dll.
I solved this poblem by changing from within the Sandbox the "system variables" setting for TMP, TEMP folders to an empty folder outside of my system profile (this is for preventing any sandboxed processes from modyfying files in my real temporary folder), then enabling Full access to that specific folder in the Sandbox settings. In that case unpacking completes without any errors. After a successful installation the changed settings can be safely reverted.
These errors are obviously caused by the more strict access rights and permissions policy introduced in Win 10. I never faced issues like that with Win 7 or 8. Hopefully, I do not put my system at risk by making an empty non-system folder accessible and perhaps there might be a more subtle and secure solution too.
So I've been having an error with my pc, isdone.dll and unarc.dll error. I say "an" because it is all just one message. At first i thought it'll just happen when i installed games, they'll fail and give the error message mentioned above. I've done everything on YouTube, from allocating ram, re-downloading the missing files, deleting temp files. You name it, i probably did it. But the error persist. I wouldn't mind too much if it only affects games, but even programs for coding, they'll fail as well. I'd really appreciate any resolution please help me
Don't know what you bought?
The main one, size of the hard disk or ssd, or both!
available space !
Amount of memory installed
You have the different possible configurations in the given link
Okay, this issue started when it was still windows 10, hence i thought the update might repair this issue. My ssd is 255gb and my external hdd is 1tb. I previously had 8gb ram but then installed an additional 4gb but says total is 10gb ram instead of 12gb which is fine, the drivers must be using up the other 2gb... Long story short, it's an AMD Ryzen 5 3500U with radeon vega mobile gfx. But in terms of configurations, I'm not sure what that entails, maybe we using different jargon for the same thing and we are lost in translation.
I have 1tb of free space in my external hard drive, and i have 110 gb free space in the internal ssd. Usually it would be programs or games over 20gb that produce this error. In fact, just last night i tried unreal engine, unity and nfs heat and all 3 gave the same error, but 2 nights back i successfully installed web expression, and euro trucks. I test both programs and games because I'm trying to narrow down the issue, like the space or system requirements that do not produce this error and as far as i can tell, it's just the space, not ram or vram or processors that cause this, just the fact that installing anything over 20gb would cause this error
110 gb of free this can be a cause, although it seems to me enough for most of the time
so try to free up as much space as possible
move personal files, delete unused programs etc!
Are the games from known platforms?
I ask because I have read several times that this happens with games from certain sites!
Previously i installed AC 4 black flag and it worked, along with nba 2k16. But then i started having this isdone.dll error and both of those stopped working so i had to reinstall them, that's when i found out about this error. So i know it's not the space, cause I've even tried installing on my external drive but still the same issues. But i just tried to re-register that isdone.dll in command prompt and I'll type verbatim what it's showing me now...
To my knowledge, when i search for the isdone.dll i can find it on appdata on my C drive... But now it's saying it's not registered. I don't want to sound like i know what I'm doing, cause honestly i wouldn't even know about this had i not be speaking to you, and although the issue is not fixed, it's a relief that you take your time to help me out, but this does mean that space is not the issue
Unarc.dll returned error code-6, then something about social club pops up, and rockstar installer turns itself down. I have tried reseating my ram, chkdsk, anti malware, run it as administrator, move rockstar installer, change the installation directory but nothing helps. I have read that it might be due to hdd bad sectors? With far cry 4, I insert the CD disc, launch setup, and about 2% I get unarc.dll error code-7.
You've got a corrupt library on your PC, in this case the unarc dll. It's used by the installer to uncompress and install the game files. It might not actually be corrupt, just a newer version than the installer expects.
I'd try locating the file on the PC, renaming it to unarc.dll.old, reboot the PC and then try and install the game. My guess is that the game will install the library again from the install CD as part of the installation.
This ISDone.dll Error is related to installing important programs and games. You should unpack the compressed data on your hard drive if you install big apps or games. The Donnell error message occasionally pops up if you install games or run them in your Windows 10. Users can see an error message displaying an error that occurred while unpacking: archive corrupted. Unarc.dll returned an error code: -7.
The installation method can face issues with third-party or startup components. In this case, you should perform a clean boot. In addition, you should not use the game to install Windows Firewall or your antivirus program. If necessary, disable the firewall to test it.
You may face issues while installing big games or software on the PC if you use corrupted system files. In this case, perform an SFC scan to ensure that you have updated Windows system files and are ready to install the files.
It may prevent you from installing some games. Therefore, try to disable third-party antivirus. Different Antivirus tools come with a disable or turn-off option. Safe Mode can help you to turn off third-party antivirus software. If you are willing to disable Windows Firewall, perform the process.
