Hearst Annual E-Cycle
Saturday, October 26th from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm

At Phoebe Hearst Elementary School
3950 37th Street, NW 20008

What is the Hearst E-Cycle? The Hearst E-Cycle is an educational Community
Event hosted by the Phoebe Hearst Elementary School PTA. The focus is on
teaching children the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling all
types of objects for a cleaner, healthier environment. Don't let this
stuff end up in a landfill, recycle it, Hearst will help!

What will be going on at the E-Cycle?
路 Drop off your old electronics for recycling at the Potomac E-Scrap
E-Cycle Station.
路 Document Shred Truck: shred sensitive documents at the Eco Shred
Document Shred Station ($5 donation per box to shred).
路 Hearst Owl Electronics Swap: swap, donate or pick up for a donation
working electronics from the Hearst Electronics Swap Table.
路 Hearst Bike Swap: donate, swap or pick up for a donation a child or
adult bike.
路 Hearst Library Book Sale: buy or donate gently used children's and
adult books to support the Hearst library (fill a bag for a $5 donation).
路 Learn about food scrap composting and worm composting from our friends
at Veteran Compost. Visit the Worm Bin or buy fresh compost.
路Visit our delicious bake sale hosted by the fabulous parent bakers of
Hearst Elementary. Enjoy a cup of Starbucks coffee.
路Buy breakfast or lunch from the Amorini Panini food truck.
路 Take a tour of our newly renovated school.

Below is a list of acceptable items at the E-cycle. batteries, camcorders,
computers, televisions, ink toner, switches, answering machines, fax
machines, old BBQs, CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes, cell phones, AC units,
appliances, all types of cables, radios, routers, keyboards, file
cabinets, CD players, copiers, DVD players, electronic motors, Plasma
TV's, networking equipment, hard drives, telephones, power supplies, LCD
monitors, and much more!

If you can plug it into the wall or it is made of metal, Hearst wants to
recycle it for you!

Please note that we cannot accept light bulbs, thermostats or smoke
alarms. There is also a $10 charge to accept a CRT monitor, tube TV,
projection TV or for hard drive crushing.
