Position: : Senior Data Center Infrastructure Engineer (Cisco UCS / VMware / OpenShift)

Location: Remote

Duration: Long Term

Client: Hitachi ( Coquina Systems)

 

Project Overview

Coquina has an urgent requirement to replace a lost resource for a client engagement with Hitachi. The role requires an experienced infrastructure engineer who can immediately contribute to design, implementation, and operations of enterprise data center environments.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise-grade data center infrastructure using Cisco UCS platforms (UCS-X and C-Series)
• Manage day-to-day operations, monitoring, and maintenance of Cisco UCS environments
• Implement and manage Cisco Intersight for infrastructure automation and remote deployment
• Develop and utilize Cisco Intersight API/SDK for automation and integration
• Design and implement VMware-based virtualization environments
• Deploy, configure, and manage Red Hat OpenShift clusters and container platforms
• Perform Linux and Windows Server installations, configurations, and administration
• Develop basic automation scripts using Python
• Integrate and manage storage systems (Hitachi or other enterprise storage) with VMware and OpenShift
• Collaborate with networking teams and ensure proper configuration of network components within the data center
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, performance, and integration issues across compute, storage, and network layers

Required Skills and Experience

Cisco UCS

• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco UCS-X and C-Series in large enterprise environments (5–10 years)
• Experience in day-to-day operations, monitoring, and implementation (2–5 years)
• Experience with earlier UCS platforms such as B-Series is acceptable

Cisco Intersight

• Experience with Cisco Intersight implementation and remote deployment (2–5 years)
• Experience working with Cisco Intersight APIs/SDK is a plus

VMware

• Solid experience in VMware design and implementation (5–10 years)

Red Hat OpenShift

• Experience in OpenShift design and implementation (2–5 years)

Operating Systems

• Linux implementation and administration (2–5 years)
• Windows Server administration (2–5 years)

Scripting

• Basic scripting experience using Python (1–2 years)

Storage

• Advanced knowledge of enterprise storage systems (Hitachi or similar)
• Experience integrating storage with VMware and OpenShift environments (2–5 years)

Networking

• Advanced understanding of networking concepts and data center networking (2–5 years)

 

Additional Notes

• Strong preference for candidates with combined expertise across Cisco UCS, VMware, and OpenShift
• Cisco UCS-X is preferred, but experience with B-Series or C-Series is also acceptable
• VMware and Cisco UCS are critical skill areas
• Cisco Intersight knowledge is required, with API experience considered an added advantage
