Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced QA Test Manager / UAT Lead to oversee and manage all software testing activities for modernization projects. This role will be responsible for leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT), coordinating testing activities, managing defects, and ensuring overall quality of software deliverables.

The ideal candidate will work closely with IT teams, business stakeholders, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and vendors to ensure that applications meet business requirements and are thoroughly tested before deployment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage quality assurance and testing activities across all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Define and implement the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) strategy for modernization projects.
  • Coordinate testing activities with business users, SMEs, and vendor teams.
  • Review and validate test strategies, test suites, and test cases.
  • Collaborate with business users to develop and execute UAT test cases.
  • Monitor testing progress and provide regular status updates and reports.
  • Manage defect tracking, prioritization, and resolution.
  • Lead defect triage meetings and root cause analysis.
  • Ensure test coverage for system functionality, integrations, performance, security, and data conversion.
  • Coordinate sprint review feedback with vendor teams and business stakeholders.
  • Provide weekly reports on UAT progress, testing outcomes, and defect status.
  • Ensure UAT exit criteria are met and obtain final business sign-off before deployment.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact between IT teams, business users, and vendors for all testing-related activities.
  • Train, mentor, and guide testing team members.

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in software testing, QA management, or test leadership roles.
  • Strong experience managing User Acceptance Testing (UAT), performance testing, accessibility testing, security testing, and integration testing.
  • Experience developing and managing test strategies, test plans, and test cases.
  • Experience tracking and reporting defects, problem incident reports (PIRs), and testing results.
  • Hands-on experience with test management and automation tools such as:
    • Jira
    • Selenium
    • JUnit
    • Microfocus UFT
    • TestSavvy
    • SQL
  • Experience with performance testing tools such as:
    • JProfiler
    • JMeter
  • Strong knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).
  • Experience working in Agile and Waterfall environments.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with Salesforce applications.
  • Experience working with Texas state agencies as an employee or contractor.
  • Previous experience as a QA Team Lead, Test Manager, or Project Manager.
