New GitHub integration, tons of updates, and designing for accessibility
In this big newsie for a little month: Tracker’s brand-new GitHub integration; a look at other recent updates like epic renovations, recovering deleted stories, and Markdown preview; how and why to consider accessibility in your product design (and how Tracker is doing it); cloning data and using task templates; and tips for building a great agile team.

Tracker and GitHub are essentially chocolate and peanut butter when it comes to software development, and with our new native GitHub integration, they practically combine themselves. You can now automatically attach GitHub branches, pull requests, and commits to stories and epics to visualize your code at a glance as it moves through the development process.

Recent updates: Epic renovations and Markdown preview

The new GitHub integration didn’t take up all of our bandwidth—we’ve also been busy changing the way epics autocomplete and adding searchable epics; making it possible to recover deleted stories; and introducing a preview for Markdown so you can double-check your comments *before* posting.

How—and why—to design with accessibility in mind

Acknowledging that accessibility should be a critical factor in your product is an important first step—next, you have to actually design for it. That’s why we’ve been focused on improving accessibility for Tracker, as well as identifying the areas we still need to address. And on Build this month, Google Chrome’s Laura Allen discusses why it must be a priority, three tips that will make it go more smoothly, and how to balance accessibility and interactivity.

Discovering Tracker: Cloning data and task templates

With a tool as extensive as Tracker, there are bound to be some features and shortcuts that can fall through the gaps in one’s knowledge. For example, did you know you can clone stories and panels, import and export project data via CSV, or use task templates for repetitive tasks? If your answer is a great big “no,” then this first post in our Discovering Tracker series may be for you.

Growing great agile teams

Although the tools you use every day (ahem!) play an important role in your team’s success, the people who make up that team—and how they interact with each other and make decisions—play an even more vital role. This post looks at the benefits and challenges of a people-oriented approach to agile development, along with how to best empower your team.
