We trust that you are all well.

On Thursday, a theft was reported in house 69.  The house help took money and left the Estate.  The security team does not have any idea how the house help could have left the Estate.

On following up with Angelica, she argues that this is a personal matter.  You can draw your own conclusions as to the implications or out-workings of that statement. Our Security and Safety Team, to date, has not been briefed.

We still have not received the drawings she promised in respect of the storage as had been promised.  We do not think we should be chasing these drawings as residents are quite clear what they want.  We are assuming that the drawings are not forthcoming and we shall be requesting the affected resident to commence the demolition of the structure as resolved in our meeting of 8 July 2012.

A decision by the committee, regarding the status of the nursery school, which was done in a manner involving the residents was also unilaterally reversed.  James and his team are meeting SHK on or around the 10 August 2012.  We are keeping our fingers crossed.

For the committee, this continual conflict with Angelica is distracting and does not augur well for the Estate's and residents well being.  We are in perpetual tension regarding whether the interests of the residents are priority or those of the developer who is her primary employer.  In this respect, the Committee has consulted and is in agreement that the current situation cannot continue. 

We are therefore writing to the developer demanding that Angelica ceases with immediate effect to handle GEMS Matters.  The committee has developed a profile for the type of Manager we are looking for and the same is attached.  This manager will be recruited on a competitive basis to handle our issues.  Your feedback on the profile is welcome and we would be happy to receive it on or before Wednesday, 8 August 2012.

We are also preparing a petition for a Special Annual General Meeting of GEMS to formalize the shift away from the developer and begin the job of managing GEMS as residents.  To assist this upcoming action, we are requesting for support from residents in respect of Finance/Auditing Professionals; Human Resource Professionals as well as Security and Safety Professionals from within our midst to enable us pull this off.  

Further information regarding the steps we want taken will be forthcoming.  In this regard, any and all suggestions and ideas are welcome as we embark on the next transition.
