Subject: Update and reminder -- Additional EPA webinar now offered -- overview of the proposed design details of the Clean Energy Incentive Program
Dear Colleague:
We recently invited you to participate in a webinar that will provide an overview of the Clean Energy Incentive Program (CEIP) Design Details Proposal. We are pleased to announce that communities and environmental justice groups will now have two opportunities to participate in an EPA webinar on this topic. The two webinars will be held on July 19 from 1-2 p.m. and on July 21 from 7-8:30 p.m. Both webinars will cover the same content. EPA will provide a brief overview presentation about the proposed details of the Clean Energy Incentive Program and then will invite participants to ask questions, and include a question and answer session.
The CEIP, which was included in the final Clean Power Plan, was designed to help states meet their goals under the plan by encouraging early investments in zero-emitting renewable energy generation, and by removing barriers to investment in energy efficiency and solar measures in low-income communities. This proposal is an opportunity for stakeholders to provide further feedback on several key design elements including: clarifications about project eligibility, providing states with the flexibility to choose a definition of a low-income community, and how the matching pool should be made available.
