Greetings Greenlabbers,

I was pleased to see the sustainability initiatives in the attached email from VWR.  Could a shift be happening on the supplier side?

Best,

Star

Hi Star,

I received the same email a short time ago. From my experience, VWR has been proactively promoting “sustainability” for at least the past 5 years and maybe longer. They are good at highlighting plastic items that can be recycled and stocking higher demand items on campus to reduce transportation costs. We are currently working with our sales rep to address other recycling issues and he is ready and willing to help. PSU Office of Physical Plant has also been a long-standing supporter of waste diversion, reuse and recycling which has been a huge help moving these kinds of initiatives forward with vendors.

Regards,

David

David,

Thanks for this response.  Yes, the customer really does drive the market.  Every dollar we spend is a vote for something.  Glad to hear PSU is voting wisely.

Best,

Star
