Greetings All,
In the continued super bizarre unfolding of American politics, it seems we’ve reached a point where we must now vote for Freezer Efficiency. This stuff is so insane, if I were writing a script, you’d all say it was too far fetched or unbelievable. And yet…here we are…with a series of bills being introduced contesting efficiency requirements, like this one. The bill seeks to repeal appliance efficiency regulations. So does this one. And there are more.
We were all taught that in order to be professional, we must never speak of politics, and also that advocacy and activism are tender topics best omitted from professional forums. I’d like to push back on these ideas. We’ve moved into a new era where maintaining professionalism means walking the walk and protecting our collective professional efforts and achievements. This is the time to embrace advocacy. Protect our work, protect our planet and please VOTE! (Every single one of these bills has been introduced by republicans.)
We’ve all worked way too hard to move towards greater efficiency and sustainability to let these bills pass. Big plans are being made for the future of our country which directly impact our collective efforts and also the planet. If you’ve ever participated in the Freezer Challenge, or energy efficiency efforts, please raise your voice and vote.
Best,
Star
