Bryce and I are going to be in the library working on our paper if any one wants to join, im down for your idea seth |
Here it is, cut and paste this into your policy description. We are missing one key piece of information, that's what is the official title of the actual Sustainability Department in Fort Collins NOW and hopefully Kelsey is alive and will respond with that information tomorrow well in advance of our deadline. Good luck to all, if you hear nothing from me or Kelsey by 2:30 or so tomorrow, just go with it as is I guess. Party will be starting for me Thursday afternoon and won't be stopping until Sunday or so. Looking for input as to where we want to get together Friday night for those who are available, but I believe the green movement is strong among us. Talk soon.
Policy: We suggest writing new municipal policy to legislate new or improve existing incentives for existing Fort Collins businesses to make their practices more sustainable and to entice inbound businesses not only to establish their operations in Fort Collins, but also to do so using sustainable practices. We advocated creating a new department within the existing sustainability program titled “Sustainable Employment.” The new department’s focuses will include reducing carbon-output; “greening” of businesses and buildings; and job creation education and implementation. Duties of the department will include public relations for green jobs and businesses; education for vocational programs, business opportunities and community education; creation of a green jobs database and oversight of mentorship programs. In addition, we advocate altering the building code for new business buildings to make construction and demolition sustainable; encouraging retrofitting of existing buildings although we discourage mandating such and finally publication of participating businesses on an annual basis.
Go with it. I love you all.
Policy: We suggest writing new municipal policy to legislate new or improve existing incentives for existing Fort Collins businesses to make their practices more sustainable and to entice inbound businesses not only to establish their operations in Fort Collins, but also to do so using sustainable practices. We advocated creating a new department above and administering the existing Sustainability program titled “Sustainable Employment.” The new department’s focuses will include their existing focuses plus reducing carbon-output; “greening” of businesses and buildings; and job creation education and implementation. Duties of the department will include oversight of the current Sustainability Program as well as public relations for green jobs and businesses; education for vocational programs, business opportunities and community education; creation of a green jobs database and oversight of mentorship programs. In addition, we advocate altering the building code for new business buildings to make construction and demolition sustainable; encouraging retrofitting of existing buildings although we discourage mandating such and finally publication of participating businesses on an annual basis.
