Conflict Mandatory vs. Volunteer Policies in Fort Collins

Other discussion that may or may not be dropped for the presentation
-Living Wages
-"Green Mindset" Changing from Cost-Benefit Analysis to Community
Analysis
I think that from our discussions we are starting to move away from
our original two definitions (Green Jobs/Green Businesses) and mainly
focusing on the Green Business Aspect. I think for the sake of
argument and time maybe we should just focus on Green Business. I
would prefer to discuss both, but I feel that we are starting to
stagnate on the Green Jobs discussion. Correct me if I am wrong
please. I would really like to keep going. We also really need to
start creating policy suggestions. Although, thanks to Kelsey, we know
that Fort Collins has started to implement a lot of these plans we
have talked about, I think that our policy suggestions should really
go to improving what is already provided (i.e. ClimateWise becoming a
Co-Op of green business/jobs/opportunities) as well as developing all
three parts of the policy focus. We can discuss this more tomorrow.

Lastly, start trying to find indicators that could relate to the
policy focuses as well as start to analyze from your stakeholders
perspective whether they would prefer mandatory policies or volunteer
policies. If you can find some sort of qualitative analysis that would
be the most beneficial or if we can start looking at other towns that
would be great. Okay, see you all tomorrow.

So I was thinking and today when we get together to discuss the
project there is one other thing that I think we all need to bring to
the table

For your stakeholder 1. Define the stakeholder 2. Offer examples in
Fort Collins on who would actually be the stakeholder. For instance:
Consumers of Non-Green Products: Businesses and individuals in the
community that purchase goods from national businesses or corporate
chains. These products do not follow the criteria of green jobs ie the
companies that produce these products do not treat their employees
fairly or participate in Green practices. Examples would be consumers
who use businesses like Wal-Mart, McDonalds etc etc.

This is pry far off but just a stepping stone.

Also, I totally forgot that I have a meeting at 530 for my internship
so if there is anyone that can meet at the libary say at 4:30, that
would be awesome. Just meet me by the coffee stand.
