Labs Learning Flow from 8/19/2011 Session

In discussions at Friday's Labs session, we talked more about the services that the Labs may provide to the other GG Seeds (please see the Labs Wiki), and we started to map out how the Labs is defining learning areas and experiments.   Click here to see a flow chart that starts to graphically show how our learning centers may be defined.  This flow chart itself is a personal experiment I am trying using online diagramming software, so hope this works!  Comments/questions welcome!

We talked about our vision that the Labs will seek to examine issues and opportunities, study and collect data related to the issue/opportunity, analyze the data to create meaningful, related information, and then report that information to interested parties so that they might use it to make informed decisions or take action. We noticed some very strong similarities to our friends in the Urban Sustainability Library, with a bit more emphasis on the scientific or technical side of things.

We also spent more time looking and talking about the temperature controls progress and starting the technical commissioning of that work. This work will then start to feed into development of our Building System learning labs as well.  The fun continues!
