Labs Design Brief - 8/12/2011

Howdy All! Here's a quick brief on what happened at the Lab Design Session today, 8/12/2011:

• Kirsten conducted a tour for MSU Business School reps; the Labs assisted with tech support, practicing our "behind the scenes" touring skills (Laurie, Free Geek Ken). The group appeared to be very intrigued and impressed, especially with the Solatubes and the Business Greenhouse concepts that Joe Gaglio shared with them.
  
• Kirsten and Laurie met after the tour and, with Joe Gallagher's help, reviewed the Web based controls graphics progress:
• We went through each point and tried to understand what they are; need to make sure point names are descriptive enough or keyed to as-built drawings for clarity.
• It appears that the controls IP address only works when on the GG network, not from home yet.
• Graphic of the piping system is in progress and nearing completion; someone was working on it remotely during the day Friday.
• It does not appear that the fan control points have been tied into the graphics yet.
• Did not see any trending capabilities yet.
• There are links to the diagrams, sequences, and operations matrix for reference from the graphic system. Need to make sure these are updated to the as-built conditions when done.
• Overall, is starting to look good, but not complete yet, and need to find out about off site access.
• Joe brought out his laptop and gave a brief demo during our community lunch also!
