It is exciting to hear about preschools that are positioning
themselves as environmental preschools! Apparently these preschools
teach kids to garden, they grow their own healthy food which the kids
then pick and eat at lunchtime, the rooms are decorated in
environmental themes, kids are taught to sort recycling and reduce
waste, and during playtimes kids are taught to participate in and make
mini renewable energy projects. Talk about being proactive in
changing society's mindset! (I heard about several in the Portland, OR
area.)
