近期绿色呼吸协会的活动 Upcoming Activities

绿色呼吸协会的各位会员：
     大家好，在这个学期，我们准备组织很多有趣而且重要的活动。我希望你们都能积极的参与以及帮助我的工作。下面的是这学期我们所筹备的活动：

1． 与模拟联合会合作举办"****辩论赛"。    4月底
辩论主题围绕一些环境问题，包括是否应当立法维护二手烟吸入者的权利等。希望通过辩论，向公众传递吸烟的危害，吸二手烟的危害，以及二手烟吸入者应当如何争取他们正当权利的知识。

2． "举办无烟接力棒"活动。    5月12日
奥运圣火即将于五月中旬传递到厦门，我们希望能够像做"无烟马拉松"活动一样，为火炬传递现场营造无烟的环境。

3． "世界无烟日"活动。    5月31日
在五月三十一日，世界无烟日之际，我们将在三家村或芙蓉餐厅门口举行宣传活动，希望能和医学院一起合作，并力争得到CDC（厦门市疾病防御中心）的帮助。

4． 绿色呼吸特别讲座（两场）。    4月*日和5月*日
我协会本部会长Chris将于四月和五月举行两场讲座，内容涉及吸烟的危害及戒烟的一些可行方案，以及二手烟的危害等。地点暂时选定嘉庚楼某教室。

同时，我们需要你们帮助组织这些活动，下面是我们需要的志愿者：

参与活动的志愿者
设计海报和宣传单的志愿者
负责宣传的志愿者（写报道以及联系可能的媒体）
参与策划的志愿者（策划活动细节的志愿者）

Hello everybody,
This semester Green Breathing has planned a lot of interesting and important activities.  We really hope you all can participate and help out.  These are the activities we are planning:

1.  Debate (in cooperation with the Mock U.N.)    Beginning of April
The subject of the debate will revolve around some environmental concerns, including whether laws should be passed to protect the people from second-hand smoke.  We hope that through this debate, we can teach the audience about the dangers of smoking and of second-hand smoke, as well as giving breathers of second hand smoke information about how to fight for their rights.

2.  "Smokefree Torch Relay" Event    May 12
The Olympic Torch relay will arrive in Xiamen in the middle of May, and we hope to do the same as we did during the "Smokefree Marathon" event, to promote a smokefree environment for the torch relay.

3.  "World No Tobacco Day" Activity    May 31
May 31st is World No Tobacco Day.  At either "San Jia Village" or at the entrance of Furong Cafeteria, we will hold a publicity event.  We hope to cooperate with the Medical Department and get help from the Xiamen CDC.

4.  Green Breathing English Lecture (two times)    April and May
During April and May, our association president on the main campus, Chris, will give two lectures in English, touching on the dangers of smoking and some ways to help people quit smoking.  These will probably be held in the Jiageng Building.

Here are some of the things we need:

Volunteers to come and participate at events
People who can design posters and flyers
People to be responsible for promotion (writing press releases and reports and contacting the media)
Volunteers to plan the details of the activities
