Subject: Tell us what being Greek means to you

Now that Black Friday, Cyber Monday and the NBA lockout are all history, there is an important milestone for the Greek-American community coming up.

This week, the National Hellenic Museum will open its doors to the public.  The Museum is a dream that the community has been chasing for decades, and while the building is up, and programming has commenced, there is much work to be done.

We are part of a history and culture that is so long, that the decades that it took to build this Museum will seem like minutes given the time we still have to spend to bring the Museum's full mission to fruition.

In the end, this Museum will be where all the stories of Hellenism will be told.  And, in that spirit, we are inviting you to do your best impression of Homer, of Psellus, of Elytis and tell us your story.

Please ready my latest blog post, http://www.hellenicleaders.com/blog/what-does-being-greek-mean-to-you-tell-us/, and respond in the next few days.  It would be great to give the Museum a "house warming gift" of hundreds of observations from Greek-Americans about Hellenic values and how they affect their lives.  If you could get a few fellow Greek-Americans to participate, it would be appreciated.

Keep in mind, as yet another year comes to an end, that our experience as Greek-Americans represents only the latest chapters in a voluminous and glorious history.  Let's keep writing our chapters -- please respond.
