HELP US CHANGE THE WORLD A message from Gregory C. Pappas Founder, the Greek America FoundationWe're less than a month away from the Greek America Foundation's National Innovation Conference (NIC) weekend -- an amazing 3-day gathering of people who are each known, in their own unique way, for shaking things up, creating something out of nothing, being successful at everything they do -- and all sharing that strand of DNA called the "world-changer DNA". The weekend begins on April 27th with a welcome reception at the Georgetown Cupcake shop in Soho, hosted by Katherine and Sophie Kallinis -- the sisters from the popular TLC show DC Cupcakes, who will share their with us scrumptious cupcakes. Guests will also sip on glasses of Domaine Spiropoulos' Ode Panos (Wine & Spirits Magazine "Top of the List" and Greece's only USDA certified organic sparkling white wine). The highlight of the weekend includes our 2nd National Innovation Conference on April 28th -- a day-long presentation of talks by amazing people who have done amazing things. Corporate giants who created multi-billion dollar companies out of nothing, innovators, philanthropists -- people with ideas worth sharing. The day-long conference is structured as such so people listen, have an opportunity to meet others and network. We liken the NIC weekend to a modern-day Athenian agora -- where like-minded people gather to share radical, new ideas in an effort to work together to change the world. Another highlight of the weekend will be the awards reception for Greek America's Forty Under 40, where we will honor 40 outstanding young game changers -- young leaders making a difference in what they do who also care about the world around them. If you haven't yet seen these dynamic people from the Class of 2012, take a look here. The weekend begins on April 27th with a welcome reception at the Georgetown Cupcake shop in Soho and closes with a brunch presentation on Sunday, April 29th with global branding genius Peter Economides. On helping Greece: We're also incorporating a special session on "Philanthrepreneurism" to discuss how we can use our innate entrepreneurial know-how and come up with new and good ideas to help the people of Greece through these difficult times. You can read about it here. If we can't do it -- if we don't do it -- I don't know who can -- or will. Registration is required for all events and the cost will increase automatically on April 8th so take a look as soon as possible and make your reservations to take advantage of the reduced rate now. Finally, if you or your company would like to support our efforts with a sponsorship, please consider it. We have heard over and over again that people who attend our events appreciate the fact that we've "raised the bar". Indeed, with your help, we have raised the bar -- but that bar is heavy. Please consider supporting our efforts.
I hope you will be a part of this unique weekend. Sincerely,
Gregory C. Pappas The Greek America Foundation www.greekamerica.org/nic |
