I looked at Athens, and seems like there are more than enough time to spend 2.5 days.
So I am looking at these optional tours.  Do you want to go on any?  It’s possible to do both as well, but our schedule will become aggressive.

Half day Sounion (pickup from our hotel at 2:10pm)

Full day Delphi (pickup from our hotel at 7:35am)

If we do both tours, the remaining day that we’ll have in Athens we will follow what this page says:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g189400-i194-k2784570-One_Day_in_Athens_Does_This_Sound_Right-Athens_Attica.html#17825528

Basically:

Acropolis

Ancient Agora

Adrianou Street

Hadrian’s Library

Roman Agora

Take subway from Monastiraki (blue) station, transfer at Syndagma to red, get off at Acropolis station

Acropolis Museum

Dionussus Theater

Hadrian’s Arch

Temple of Zeus

Areopagus

If not, then we will split those place across 2 days, or 1.5 days. And maybe with addition of the following:

Syntagma Square, look at the presidential guards

Monastiraki Flea Market (visit on Sunday)

Plaka old historic neighborhood (include Anafiotika)

Psirri (night life)

Panathinaiko Stadium, venue to the 1st modern Olympics in 1896

Marinas dotted around Faliro and Piraeus

Kifissia

Coastal area between Kalamaki and Varkiza (including Glyfada)

Mount Lycabettus

Plateia Kotzia

Panepistimiou Street

I don’t really know where all these places are… if you have time, you can map it out like what Laura did before so we can figure out the best way to get around.

If money is not a concern, we can do both tours to see more places in Greece and go with "Athens 1".

Those places in "Athens 1" are all closed by together and reachable from each other by foot/subway and Acropolis is my #1 location to visit in Athens.

Greece (Sept 2012) - Athens 1

Greece (Sept 2012) - Athens 2
