HiI migrated from Cubase Pro 9.5 to 10 without major issue.

I just tested quickly Spectrasonics Omnisphere 2.5 (last update) and the switching between 2 presets is very slow compared to the same use on 9.5. When I click on a patch, I have immediatly the previewed sound but the GUI update of the VST and Cubase are delayed until the complete loading and it take more 5 seconds where on version 9.5 is less 2 seconds (without freezing of the GUI) to switch to another preset. I also tested without my prefs (CTR+ALT+SHIFT) on launch of Cubase and I have the same issue with Omnisphere.

I saw the same issue on the forum in the past on old Cubase versions. Very boring. I come back to Cubase 9.5 for the moment.

I recently had the same problem. Omnisphere and Stylus RMX work fine as standalone and in Cubase 11, but run very slowly in Cubase 12. I was able to fix this by turning off some Windows Visual Effects from System Properties - Advanced - Performance - Settings and setting my video card to best performance.

30 custom and unique free presets for Omnisphere 2. This pack has a very dark and mysterious vibe to it. Each sounds has great texture and creates an automatic full-sounding atmosphere with just one sound.

The most convenient method for sharing and/or adding third-party sounds is through the use of .omnisphere files (see Sharing), which contain all Patches and Soundsources being shared, as well as additional organization and information by the developer.

In AUM you can build literally the same soundscapes as in Omnisphere... using multiple synths/fx processing and there can be interaction between layers via midi control.

But: you have to set up all by yourself, while in Omnisphere you can browse a ton of presets

The biggest challenge IMHO is the samples included in Omnisphere. We have great wavetable and subtractive synths but no available iOS ROMpler, be it SampleTank, Pure Synth or the GarageBand/Cubasis/Auria/Ns2 etc. factory samples comes close to what Omnisphere offers.

Probably easier to sample your favorite Omnisphere presets into SF2 or EXS24 programs.

Pure Synth Platinum 2 and D1 are the closest thing to rompler synths on iOS. They like Omnisphere are inspired by Roland's D50 and JV/XV line of synths, which Eric Pershing also worked on.

A few years ago, I read an interview with Eric Persing where he bemoaned that so many people that use it, don't realize that it isn't a ROMpler. I think most people (even pros) get a synth and basically press buttons and turn knobs with little interest in what the buttons and knobs do or what a synth's architecture is.

Taking a look at architecture of Omnisphere and JV2080, they are very similar. Rompler isn't used negatively here, but by definition a synth with oscillators that are samples is a rompler. That term has been used by purists that way but yes both are great synths.

I get what he said but bemoaning that many synth users are preset junkies is like criticizing that not everybody has the time, patience and interest to learn how to program a synth.

I prefer creating my own presets over scrolling through endless lists but I can perfectly understand everybody who doesn't. And even I prefer to start from a preset that sounds similar to where I want to go, unless the synth has a huge preset chaos.

Omnisphere has a great preset organization with categories / tags so even with 1000s of presets, it's quite possible to find what I'm looking for.

The original Omnisphere synth was released in 2008. It offered an incredible number of factory-built presets and sounds and was arguably one of the most well-received and influential romplers in the production space.

These free Omnisphere patches are perfect for hiphop producers looking to create beats in the style of Travis Scott and Steven Schaefer, whose smooth basses and iconic guitar sounds have captivated the hearts of millions. Although fair warning, likes and subscribes are still required if you want to snag these powerful patches through the link here.

If it helps you rest even easier at night, let me say that many things CAN be under copyright (melodies, vocals, etc), but the sources of the sounds that play them, AKA presets, are almost impossible to track.

The sheer amount of presets that it comes with, the insane amount of functionality in the plugin, its built-in granular synth, and more are incredible. Omnisphere is arguably a better synth that many hardware options that are three times its price tag.

I have been having a problem in GP that when I change presets GP would crash constantly. I sent in a crash report and GP tech immediately narrowed it down to Om. This is crashing inside Omnisphere when Gig Performer is loading the plugin. It seems to want to load a sound bank (FXBFile) and the crash is occurring inside Omnisphere during that process.

I suspect if you instead created a new rackspace with Omnisphere with the preset you wanted and changed rackspaces, this would fix the problem. Based on what I have learned so far, the developers set up rackspaces in order to maintain stability even when you are changing to a different memory-intensive sound (aka preset). This way, the Omnisphere sound/preset would already loaded when the gig file was loaded.
