As I'm sure we all know, March 19th marks the beginning of the sixth
year of war in Iraq. United for Peace & Justice is planning a number
of events nationally and have launched a website at http://www.5yearstoomany.org/.
UFPJ is calling for and supporting a set of activities on and around
the 5th anniversary that will manifest the intensifying opposition to
the war and help strengthen our movement.

If memory serves, at the last meeting there were mentions of
activities to mark this sad anniversary. Do we already have something
in the works? If so we should go to the website at http://www.5yearstoomany.org/
and add it to the national list. With the UFPJ media machine working
it would help us get a lot more people out at the event.

I've already signed us up as an 'Endoresing Organization'. Let me know
what we're already planning, if anything, and I can post it on their
site. If we don't have plans I'd be willing to be involved in the
planning.

Hey everybody...here's a quick update about the table top display meeting we
had on Sunday.

Paula did an excellent job organizing information for the displays. Paula,
Dick, Pastor Dan, John & I met at Peace Lutheran. We have a pretty good idea
of the information we would need to print for each display. Once we know the
size of each of the displays we can size the information & laminate it for
mounting.
We also discussed having a business card printed that members could hand out
to direct people to our new excellent website. It could also include some of
the bullet points from the displays.

It would be very good timing to have some follow-up events to promote at the
Concordia event.

Best Regards,
Larry

Larry,

I have contacted Riverkeepers and Communiversity, the two offices that told
Howard we could borrow their table top displays. Bob of Riverkeepers is
going to deliver his to me this week. I will pick up the other one this
week, too. We can keep both of them through March 11 or later. Our
conference is March 8 & 9. It doesn't sound like they use their table tents
much (both were stored in their basements.)

One is red, the other is grey. Both have a center piece that is about 3-4
feet high and 3-4 feet wide. Then, there are 2 side panels of 1.5 feet that
can attach on each side. One has actually 4 side panels, I believe. The
red one has a bracket over the center piece that holds the wings in place
and that has a removable personalized banner in it. We could make one of
our own or tape something over it.

So, these are not as big as your display, but I think they could work OK.
The red one for the national and the grey for our local group. The tables
are 8 feet and will have white clothes and white or marroon skirting on them
(depending on what colors are available--not our choice.)

I got the vinyl banner I ordered today. I'm working on the other elements,
and will bring them to the next meeting for comments/revision before
laminating.

I also contacted The Peace Alliance to ask about how to associate with them
(formally). They asked me to send an email and they would get back to me
next week as they have a board meeting later this week.
