8th Indo-Pak Peace Calendar

Respected Peace Supporter/Concerned Citizen,

Pl spread this call a a minimum support from your side for the cause of Peace. This time is crucial in spreading this and to provide desires and dreams of younger generation what they deserve, peace and friendship.

Sorry for any cross-posting

Aaghaz-e-Dosti is an Indo-Pak friendship initiative that primarily works through peace education activities in schools and colleges. Among our regular activities is the annual Indo-Pak Peace calendar. This calendar is a collection of selected paintings of school students from India and Pakistan and is launched alongwith a seminar in several cities in both countries. It also has messages from renowned personalities working on the issue from both the countries.

The importance of the calendar is that it is a collection of shared dreams and hopes for friendship which we will be reminded of everyday. The reason to focus on students is to enable the future leaders to forge the path to a better world by engaging them with aspects of critical thinking, civic engagement, human rights and dialogue as solution.

The “Indo-Pak Peace Calendar 2020” will be the eighth calendar. We have received great response for this calendar in the last 7 years and many schools from India and Pakistan participated in this program. We are also proud that this initiative has been supported in previous years by renowned philanthropic projects and companies like Zindagi Channel, Zeal For Unity, Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, India International Centre and Servants of People Society (Founded by Lala Lajpat Rai) in India and Quaid-e-Azam University, SAFMA and Pakistan-US Alumni Network (PUAN) in Pakistan. During last seven years, we are blessed with messages and participation of people like Dr S N Subbarao, Satyapal, Dr Syeda Hameed, Kamla Bhasin, Shashi Tharoor, Air Vice Marshall (Retd) Kapil Kak, Sudheendra Kulkarni, Ram Puniyani, Pankaj Chaturvedi, Kuldeep Nayar, TCA Raghavan, Admiral (Retd) Ramdas, Major Gen. T K Kaul, Lalita Ramdas, Ram Mohan Rai and many others from India and Prof Ayesha Jalal, Raza Rumi, Beena Sarwar, Sheema Kermani, Dr. Imtiyaz Alam, Salima Hashmi, Asma Jahangir, Khadim Hussain, Dr. Parvez Hoodbhoy, Karamat Ali, Shakeel Wahiduddin Khan, Anwar Jafri, Dr Ishtiaq Ahmad and many others from Pakistan. This initiative has been covered by the leading media in both countries and has been recognized by many other forums and international media houses and civil society groups, peace activists and researchers.
