Ordered this bag for my girlfriend and she absolutely loves it! The little specs on the bag which I thought were just paint speckles are actually tiny metallic stars and moons it turned out a lot cooler than I was expecting honestly.

The cutting-board looks amazing. It's very well made. You see the joints but you won't feel them. Like all natural wood the board needs some care. It is very important to use the manufacturer recommended Essential Mystery Oil regularly. At the beginning (the first 3 weeks), preferably once a week - later then once a month. The oil penetrates the surface of the wood and protects the fibers. The so called Board Cream contains beeswax and other natural ingredients and seals the surface. Use the oil first, let it dry overnight and apply the cream next evening - let it also dry overnight. It sounds like a lot of work but it's really only 5 minutes per week and later 5 minutes per month. Always apply it to both sides of the board and the edges! Don't use dish-soap or other harsh chemicals to clean your board. These deprive the wood of the natural oils and break it down. It is best to clean the board with a mild soap and water. Do not leave anything damp or wet on the board for a long time. We've been using one of the Boss Boards for over 5 years and it still looks like new. Boss boards, oil and cream are made and certified in the USA!
I oil it every few weeks and it looks like it will last forever. The cherry wood compliments our kitchen cabinets.
I picked up this cherry board after returned the same board in Maple. The original maple block was returned because of large cracks forming despite following the oiling and maintenance instructions (see the large number of reviews of people experiencing splitting). This cherry version, whether by luck or by some inherent properties of the cherry, has not suffered any splitting thus far. It is a beautiful finish and I enjoy how substantial the board feels. It also is on the softer side, which I prefer the feel of when cutting. The trade off is that the board shows cut marks quite easily. Some things to consider with these Boos blocks. If you live in a very dry climate, you should oil the block weekly in the first few months, not just monthly as they recommend. I'd also recommend the board butter, which further helps seal in the oil into the board and protects against too much moisture penetration. This approach has been serving me well. Finally, a few minor quality issues I noticed but wasn't enough to make me return the board. You can feel that the surface of the board is not entirely uniform when you run your hand across. There are some very subtle variations in texture and a bit of a depression along one surface of the board. Additionally the Boos stamp on the side of the board is a bit incomplete. The edges of the lettering, particularly on the bottom left of the "B" in Boos is not perfectly imprinted. These minor issues are bit disappointing for the price of this board, and I would go so far as to suggest that this board should have been sold as a "second". I of course, could have returned it to Amazon and tried yet another, but in the end I'm satisfied enough with the board and didn't feel like going through the effort to return it. Just be aware that when you buy these online, given some inconsistency in Boos Quality Control, you may get one with some minor issues and have to deal with returning it.

This mat is so comfortable to stand on. The tapered edge keeps it from being a trip hazard. It is also terrific at protecting the wood floor near the sink. The negative is that seems to attract dust and dirt which shows a lot.

Beautiful piece, just much smaller than I pictured. It would be a bit difficult to actually use as a cutting board due to its size.

I love John Boos products but this particular board doesn’t seem to ship well. This is my 2nd board, same specs, that arrived with a crack on the side. I returned the last one only to reorder this one which also arrived with a crack. Perhaps the shipping needs better packaging for this large board. I would keep this damaged board at a discount but not finding this as an option.
