You are invited to the fifth annual Dulles programming contest on March 23rd, 2019! We will have Java Advanced, Java Novice, and Scratch (for elementary, middle school, and high school novices) divisions, plus a UIL-style written test. A detailed information sheet is attached.
An information sheet specifically for middle and elementary school Scratch teams is also attached. Please, please read this document, and email me if you have any questions at all. One very important piece of information from the information sheet – it is strongly preferred that each Scratch team bring its own laptop. We will reluctantly provide laptops if absolutely necessary, but we would require notice well in advance – like, now.
The Scratch contests will be graded on the computer; the Java contests will use PC2. A previous Scratch packet and keys are attached. Elementary and middle schools, please, please read the Scratch info summary, attached.
Please reply, using the attached registration form, by Thursday, March 14th. A rough estimate of numbers as soon as you can get it to me would be appreciated. We can accommodate 100+ Java teams and at least 20 Scratch teams at each level, so hopefully everyone who wants to attend can do so.
Don’t hesitate to email or call if you have any questions. Please feel free (nay, encouraged!) to forward this to anyone I’ve left out. (Conversely, please forgive any duplicate or unwanted mailings, or let me know and I’ll correct my email list.)
Looking forward to seeing you!
