Keep those cards and letters coming folks – we still have plenty of room! Please talk to the CS teachers you know, in case I’ve missed anyone.
Even though we’re still accepting registrations, we’d sure appreciate getting them as soon as possible – tomorrow, maybe…..? I need to buy concessions and give Double Dave’s a heads-up.
Speaking of pizza – if you’re Scratch-only and planning on ordering pizza, please try to be here not later than 9:30 or so, so that we can finalize the order and get it called in. (Your contest, having no written component, is from 11AM-1PM.)

Subject: October 22nd, 2016 - 3rd Annual Dulles Programming Contest!
I’m sure I’ll find some error/omission in my information/registration documents as soon as I hit “send,” but I gotta send this out sometime…..!
You are invited to the third annual Dulles programming contest on October 22nd 2016! We will have Java Advanced, Java Novice, and Scratch (for elementary, middle school, and high school novices) divisions, plus a UIL-style written test.
The Scratch contest will be graded on the computer; the Java contests will require file input. Summary of file input attached in case your novices might find it useful, plus information and registration forms. Our previous Scratch packets are also attached – if you would like the keys, please email me.
Please reply, using the attached registration form, by Thursday, October 13th. A rough estimate of numbers as soon as you can get it to me would be appreciated. We can accommodate 100+ teams, so hopefully everyone who wants to attend can do so.
Don’t hesitate to email or call if you have any questions. Please feel free (nay, encouraged!) to forward this to anyone I’ve left out. (Conversely, please forgive any duplicate or unwanted mailings, or let me know and I’ll correct my email list.)
Looking forward to seeing you!
Parenthetical remark:
For last year’s attendees, we would like to state that the wiring into the building was completely redone over the summer, and that we will have Uninterruptible Power Supplies for the judging computers and the routers. Just in case, we recommend that laptop batteries be fully charged. However, we do NOT expect a repeat of last year’s events (knock on wood)!

Sending out a last reminder (keep those cards and letters coming in, folks! We still have plenty of room….! ;-> ) and more information.
The best place for buses to park is the student lot. Enter at the corner of Dulles Avenue and Viking Lane (there’s a light), parking lot is on the left past the track.

The best place for cars is the faculty lot.

Enter at the front (from the bus parking area, cross Viking Lane, from the faculty parking lot it’s right there).
Cafeteria (contest): Take a right and look to your left as you go down the hall. Restrooms are a bit farther down the hall on the right.
Library (coaches): Take a left and you will run right into the library doors. Restrooms are out the doors and to the left, then look to the right.
Hope to see y’all there! J
