Cooks Great!

I have an old 4 qt. crock pot but decided I wanted a larger one so I could have leftovers for my family. I saw this crockpot on clearance and decided to take a chance. It cooks like a charm. I have cooked both on the high setting and the low setting. I mostly use the low setting, coming home after work to an already prepared dinner. This crockpot cooks like it should. On the low setting it simmers the foods perfectly. For those that think crockpots cook too fast - this one does not. It gently simmers all day long. It does not do a rolling boil, even on high. It is easy to clean and it has four feet! Lots of models only have three feet. The lid also does not have any kind of a seal around it. I know I was looking for one that didn't. It is made in China, but what isn't these days....

After returning a Crock Pot brand slow cooker for a refund and giving another one away because the heat is too high even on low, I spent hours reading reviews for slow cookers on Amazon and finally came across this one with a review that said EXACTLY what I was looking for--a slow cooker that actually COOKS SLOWLY. I received this one yesterday and built a chili to simmer overnight on low. I checked it this morning and it was PERFECT--Simmering perfectly with no scorching or rapid boiling.

Not only did it cook perfectly, it's also beautiful on the counter. Tomorrow my chili will be sampled from this beautiful appliance by the chili cook-off judges, and even if I don't win, I'll be satisfied that it turned out exactly the way I intended and it is beautifully displayed.

Of note, when I searched for slow cookers, this one did not come up. I added the word, "shallow" because the best one I'd ever had was round and shallow, and then the Bella line appeared. It should be listed up front with slow cookers.

I will NEVER buy another Crock Pot brand appliance unless they fix their heating elements to actually cook slowly in a slow cooker. Of course by that time, I won't need another one. I plan to buy another Bella.

I will add to this review when I use it on the other settings and try a roast.
