Are you the cook? Well, not exactly the chef but somebody who is into
cooking and is into working with food and preparing it so that those
who taste what you prepare will forget that names. Now if you are,
have you already heard about the Dutch oven? Well, you probably have
but you never paid much attention to it. After all, you do know what a
stove is, you know what a grill is, and an oven is still an oven and
it does not matter where it comes from.
Well, see, if that is how you look at what a Dutch oven is, then you
are mistaken. The real deal about this is that it is not your usual
oven. In fact, it is actually a cooking pot but is usually fashioned
using cast iron and is made to have a really thick wall. But that does
not end there. See, the Dutch oven also has a lid that fits really
tight on the pot. So if you are going to look at it, you just may say
that you have a small pot which is going to function much like how an
oven would. You can even say that it is the oven of long ago when the
modern oven has not yet been invented.
Now if you are on the trail towards finding the best way to create the
best dishes using a Dutch oven, then you are going to be happy to find
out that there are tons and tons of recipes on dishes that will allow
you to use this cooking machine. Or if you want to really learn how to
use this one, there are also tons that you can over the Internet. Just
so you know though, if you are into slow cooking which would take a
long period of time, then the Dutch oven is for you. It is usually
used when preparing stews or casseroles. If you are into roasting
various types of meat, this is what you need. But see, this is also
used not only for that but it can also allow you to bake biscuits and
breads. Yes, it is that versatile.
