Before using the Cisco Unified IP Conference Station 7937G with Cisco Unified CallManager release 4.1(3)SR5 or later, you must install thelatest firmware on all Cisco Unified CallManagerservers in the cluster.
Note: If you have a Cisco Unified CallManageron a Release earlier than 4.1(3)SR5, do NOTinstall this firmware. You must first upgrade your Cisco Unified CallManager to one of the compatible releases listed inTable 1.
This firmware is compatible with Cisco Unified CommunicationsManager (Cisco Unified CM) releases 8.6, 8.5, 8.0, 7.1, 7.0, 6.1, and 6.0 andCisco Unified CallManager 5.1 and 4.3. New device enabler, cmterm-7937-1-4-5-QED.cop.sgn, should beinstalled, in order to control recording tone behavior.
Before using the 1.4(5) firmware for Cisco Unified IP Conference Station7937G with Cisco Unified CommunicationManager Releases, you need install the latest firmware on allCisco Unified CommunicationManager servers in the cluster. Device enabler should also be updated.
7937 only works as a SCCP/Skinny endpoint, as there is no SIP firmware for that model. You need to use chan_skinny or chan_sccp_b and manually generate the configuration files for the phone. The phone then would download them through TFTP.
Hi everyone, I have bought a Cisco 7960 to work with my SIP provider however it has come with the non SIP software preloaded. I have found a site that claimed to have the firmware but it only has the files POS3-07-5-00.bin, POS3-07-5-00.loads, POS3-07-5-00.sb2, P003-07-5-00.bin and P003-07-5-00.sbn. It seems to be missing files like RINGLIST.DAT and SIPDefaultGeneric.cnf that Cisco's site said it should include. I'm not Cisco certified so I can't download it from there. I have put the files that I do have into my TFTP server and the phone does get the ones that are there, but then it gets stuck on a screen that says "Configuring Phone" and doesn't move from there. I'm probably just missing something but some help would be greatly appreciated.

Since this product has reached end-of-support/end-of-life by Cisco, no updates to the affected firmware will be provided. There are workarounds to mitigate any potential impact you may have as a result of these findings.
