Hi,

I read that greasemonkey higher than 0.98 should update scripts automatically but that never happens. I always have to update them manually. I checked "preference" and there is no option to enable updating script automatically like the screenshot posted on your website. All I have under greasemonkey options are Editor, Uninstall and under "Update checking" there is only a single checkbox that says "Require secure updates" (the options "Enable automatic update checking for scripts"  and "Automatically install updates when found" in this screenshot are missing from my installation http://www.greasespot.net/2012/02/automatic-script-updates-come-to.html) I tried checking and uncheckingthe "Require secure updates" box which makes no difference.

I am using greasemonkey 1.4 on Firefox 16.0.2 (but I have experienced this for all previous FF versions). OS is Ubuntu 12.04.

Thanks in advance for advices and hints.

Which script?  All you need is 1) Serve from HTTPS (or turn off require secure updates; but don't do that it's a bad idea) and 2) Have a @version which is higher at the original download URL than in your installed copy.

The options have indeed changed to be simplified since the original version in that screenshot, that's expected.

Hi, one of the userscripts is http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/87011 Unchecked "Require secure updates" and restarted FF and nothing happens. Whereas in Chrome Tameprmonkey has fetched an update.
