Greasemonkey keeps reverting my script to previous version

Hello,

I use Firefox Nightly on Linux, which updates frequently. I made a Greasemonkey script for my personal use and at one point had to make a change.

Recently however, after Firefox is killed unexpectedly or the computer has had its power cut, the script often gets reverted to the previous edit. I tried incrementing the version in the code, but it still keeps happening. Any ideas what might be going on?

This is not expected.  But only happens after an unclean process termination/shutdown?  Sounds like an issue external to Greasemonkey or Firefox, more like you've got a disk that doesn't properly flush data to permanent storage.

perhaps the disk failed to save the new changes, or it may not have been able to execute the command due to an unexpected power-off, and therefore could not write the new data to the disk.

The reason for this, as far as I can see, was in the database file which holds the scripts - 61413404gyreekansoem.sqlite. I opened the table object_data with DB Browser for SQLite and noticed it contained two records with the same object store ID and key. Both appeared to contain my script in some kind of compressed form in the data field. After I edited the script in the browser, the second record appeared to contain the new version (version had changed). But after I closed the browser process and reopened it, something overwrote this second record with data from the first record, which always contained the old version of the script.

Solution was to copy the script's text to another place, delete the script from the menu, add it back again and paste the text. Now there is only one record in the table.
