I just downloaded the ACDsee classic shareware version
which has an evaluation period of 30 days i think, I havent
registered it yet. Anyhow every time i open a photo my modem TXD light
flashes and then the picture opens.
I have a registered version of zonealarm pro installed and
ACDSee isnt showing up in it, nor is zonealarm stopping acdsee phoning
home...... does anyone have the same problem or anyone know how i can stop
this from happening?

I have ACDSee v3.1 trial version with a 90 day trial. I checked
it with several spyware databases and didn't turn up anything,
but Simplythebest.net did.

I have a 56k modem and McAfee firewall. I clicked on three or four
images and got this in my event log.

I don't know if this is it, but it's the right time.

I hope it's not spyware, because it's a great program.

Hi
I downloaded and faithfully use without the problems you describe,
ACDsee Classic Version 2.43

I downloaded the installation kit (setup) on Thursday, June 22,
2000, and that executable has:

1,560,801 Bytes Used out of xxxxxxxx (redundant)

At the time I downloaded it, the webpage insisted there would never
be another version. You might want to compare the size of yours
with mine. I absolutely have not seen the anomaly you describe.
Please verify your analysis, and comment again given the data I've
provided you. If worse comes to worse, I could e-mail you my setup
kit. But that should be a last resort.

Regards
Carlene

Mine is definately v3.41. It says created February 14th, 2001.
The setup is 7.57 MB (7,944,268 bytes). used 7,946,240 bytes used.
I got mine from AOL downloads.

I'm not tech minded. I'm hoping it's not spyware. I love the program.

I checked again. I definately clicked on three images for the test.

Check the InTouch feature
whether it's disabled or not.

Oops. It's not v3.41, but v3.1. Not the classic.

It's my recollection that the poster said he was running ACDsee
"Classic", a whole different puppy from the other ACDsee offerings
of today.
