Online RTI Generator - Need Help in Development

Hi,

Based on numerous requests on "how to file RTI application", we came up with this nice idea of making an online RTI web app, that will assist you in preparing RTI applications, explains everything from who is a PIO to different modes of payment.

I am working on this for past 2 days and hosted the source it in github: https://github.com/saiy2k/rti-generator (only the UI is now complete and very much unpolished).

If any web developer, especially with wordpress knowledge, could join me in this effort, it will be great :-) Many people were waiting on this to be completed, as we told them to wait till this utility is implemented.

What is Right To Information?

Right To Information(RTI) is the constitutional right of Indian Citizens to know how the government works, enacted by the Right To Information Act, 2005. RTI is a powerful weapon against one of the greatest evil that is plaguing India, CORRUPTION.

We developed a simple web application (http://grayfaceofindia.in/online-rti-generator/), to generate RTI Applications, whose purpose is to teach various aspects of filing RTI to RTI beginners and helping them with few pre-defined templates.

Our Plans

Now we are planning to take it to the next level with loads of features, that will appeal to New and Expert RTI Applicants all over the country with the following features:

1. State Specific Generation: Each state has a unique RTI specification, with different RTI payment methods, mandatory fields, even custom forms in few states.

2. Cloud: All the generated applications are saved in the cloud (on user’s consent), to get reminded after 30 days, to help in follow ups.

3. Follow Up: Provisions to track the proof of delivery, upload and organize the RTI responses.

4. Improved UX: Improved User Experience, by auto-saving frequently entered fields, auto-filling name, address on page load, etc.,

5. Social: Share the generated RTI and your success stories in FB, Twitter and Google Plus.

6. Privacy: Options to generate RTIs completely anonymous

7. Admin Panel: Providing an Admin Panel for RTI Activists to easily upload new RTI templates into the system.

8. Multi-Lingual: To support local languages, starting from Tamil.

9. Different File Formats: Generating DOCX, PDF Application (For now, only HTML generation is implemented)

10. First Appeal and Second Appeal Generator (later phases)

11. Mobile applications (later phases)

It strictly a work in progress and roughly around 50% of the design is done. We are working hard to finish the specification asap, but no deadlines can be given, since we are working on this on our have free time.

This is such a big system and we definitely need help from IT experts to make this dream come true. All code is open source, hosted in github.com (https://github.com/saiy2k/rti-generator) Credits will be given appropriately !!!
