Please note: all performers, including Disney Character Look-alikes, will also perform in meet-and-greets as fully costumed Disney Characters in our Parks and Resorts. This includes wearing large body costumes, heads, and feet, and exposure to hot and humid weather.
The first audition includes a simple miming exercise; once cuts are made, those who come back are asked to take on more advanced choreography. McBroom was asked to come back after the dance portion of the audition and was then immediately fitted as a princess.
Characters with an accent (like Alice, Wendy, or Mary Poppins) undergo a separate day of dialect training. But even those who play American characters have to alter their voice a bit. As part of training, actors will watch movies starring their characters and say lines back.
Life/farm sim games are seemingly a dime a dozen. Hell, some of them are free-to-play, so they don't even cost that much. Yet each time a new one drops, be it from a AAA studio or an indie developer, it gets harder and harder to tell what, if anything, is new. Then came Disney Dreamlight Valley.

Thirdwing is a new hybrid theatre company formed by Bossert, which seeks to blend live and streaming presentation models to expand audience accessibility for theatre. In exchange for subscribing to Thirdwing's streaming platform (which costs $4.99 per month), members will receive a ticket to the run of Burbank and access to the play's prequel, The Fairest.
The Fairest centers on the underpaid women who painted the animation cells for Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. One of these women, Betty Ann Dunbar, also features in Burbank, where she is forced to decide if going on strike is worth endangering the closest thing she may ever get to being a paid artist.
Membership to Thirdwing includes tickets to all live performances and events, as well as hours of original streaming theatrical and film content. Thirdwing is currently streaming multiple episodes from its acclaimed United Nations play series, the Female Genius anthology, and master class sit-down chats with a variety of theatre greats, including John Turturro and Danny Burstein.

To pull it off, Disney taps into location tracking and Bluetooth beacons (along with a secret blend of other behind-the-scenes tech). The games can even tell where you are in line and how fast you're moving along, adjusting the gameplay through the queue.
"We work very hard to immerse people in these worlds, and the last thing we want is having guests' noses buried in their device," said Josh Gorin, an executive with Disney's Imagineering team. His creative group collaborated with the digital and technology teams to make something that didn't just keep you busy on a phone -- but also tells a story and engages you with your travel party.
There's a bit of a family-game-night feel to it all. Everyone in your party shares one phone and passes it around, with people working together to accomplish the missions. And in some, the clues to play are hidden on the walls of the line itself, forcing you to look at the world around you.
Disney's Play app, released last month, is free on iOS and Android. It works at the two parks at Disneyland Resort in California and the four parks at Walt Disney World in Florida. Players on each coast will have different experiences. The Tinkerbell special effect is in Disneyland, for example, and the Space Mountain effect is only at Magic Kingdom in Disney World.
I had a brief test with the app during a visit to Disney's Hollywood Studios in Florida. I was there to check out the opening of Toy Story Land in June, and I played the games for Toy Story Mania and Slinky Dog Dash. (You can see what it's like in the video above.)
Wait times can also change your experience. Since beacon sensors know your place in line, gameplay will scale, so you feel like the narrative is complete, no matter if you waited 20 minutes or (gulp) two hours.
For now, only a handful of Disney's rides have these special games. But there are layers of other content to keep you busy -- some of which you can play outside of the parks. You can test yourself with trivia, poke around animated maps, and, if you are on iOS, stream theme park music on Apple Music.
Expect more to come. Gorin said the team wants to expand into park-wide quests and scavenger hunts. There will also be challenges tied to the upcoming Star Wars-themed land, Galaxy's Edge, opening next year.
I don't go to Disney parks to stare at my phone, but a hybrid entertainment application like this can be helpful when crowds swell, especially when Star Wars land opens. Annual industry estimates show park attendance on the rise, with last year more than 20 million people visiting the Magic Kingdom and 18 million visitors showing up at Disneyland.
Even on vacation, when you want to cut down on screen time, it's easy to be tempted to pull out a phone when you're stuck in line. At least with this app, Disney can get you playing with family and engaging with the parks in new ways, instead of mindlessly scrolling through social media posts.
Hi, got an odd issue with Disney plus app on my Nebular capsule Max. Disney plus suddenly stopped working, the app loads, I can login and all options show normally but when I select something there are no options, if I choose STAR WARS I just get a bit picture of the death star and nothing else, nothing further to select or click on, same with marvel or individual titles.
Disney app is not available on google play store, this has worked for several weeks with no issues, the app continues to work on my Android phone, tablet and windows PC no issues. All other apps also seem to be ok on my capsule.
Ideally you know this at purchase time and factor into the decision, much better than assuming something sold only in the hundreds to thousands will keep working while devices sold in the millions move on.
The challenge is the projector has a lower DPI than regular devices like phones and tablets so eventually the size of the borders and text will make the video stop working, if not now then eventually.
I like that it runs Vanced App - ad-free youtube, that is better than a Chromecast which runs official with-ad version. The best way overall is a Chromebook with HDMI or modern Android tablet with HDMI support. My portable media device is a 10.8 inch tablet. Using it now.
Try Firefox. It has its own foibbles, I had to bluetooth pair a keyboard, and then used Firefox sync to get access to passwords etc. Login to Disney and then full screen, it might work. Might be my imagination but picture quality seemed better.
Well a good use of time while waiting for Nebula support to reply is install Firefox. It will probably play Disney, as I found it worked for me for everything. Even if Nebula Disney does get to work, Firefox is a useful Plan B.
nebular support got back to me with a sort of fix, they have uploaded a new version to the nebular store. This now has all the main menus back but when when I select a movie i still just get a full screen image, however I can now drag this down with my own AIR MOUSE (doesnt work with provided remote) to see the play button.
