notes from meeting tonight

Dear GGG - Funding, Steering and Design Teams: 

The Steering committee met tonight.  Results:  kelly G Jones will head up the funding team.  She will work from the base of designing monthly or bimonthly funding events and will ask for volunteers for specific tasks.  Her energy and enthusiasm are leading to some great events and a lot of fun for all of us! 

 

Process clarification:  The Steering Committee needs to approve all actions and expenditures.  For example, the steering committee will need to approve the t-shirt design and appropriate funding for production. 

 

Lastly, we will be spending the next 5 days putting together a grant application due March 1 to CA State Parks and Recreation.  This is an opportunity we decided we can't let pass, even though we received an iffy go ahead just today.  Long story, but I've been trying to get clarification as to how much of the trail they will count as a park.  If we have more than 3 acres of park for 1,000 people, we won't qualify.  (I know, a trail is not a park, but that's how it goes. . . .)

 

We'll also be taking up an offer from Guy Erdman to have our letterhead and envelopes printed. 

 

We'll hear about the grant in six months.  In the meantime, we'll keep trucking.
