It is time for the community to show up at the GFD Board meeting to demonstrate how much the community wants a park in Graton at the fire house site. Please plan to be at the old firehouse at 7:30, Tuesday, June 14th.
We
will be asking the Board to sell or lease the property to the Graton
Green Group (a 502(c)3 non-profit organization) for a nominal sum. In
exchange, the Board will be able to insure that the property will serve
the community directly and that the property will be improved. (Diane
Davis of Buddy's Tree Farm is donating spruce & fir trees this
coming fall to be planted on the west side. The trees will make an
immediate improvement and screen the plastic company's storage yard.)
(Yes, some people would like for the GGG to purchase the parcel behind Underwood, but that land is much more costly and doesn't already have sewer, water and utilities. Besides, the GGG members would like to have a park on Graton Road, central to downtown.)
The Board will be much more responsive to our plea if there are many people at the meeting to represent the community. So, please plan to come. You don't have to speak, unless you want to.
If you want a park, be there!
Thank you!
HolLynn, President, Graton Green Group Board of Directors
Yeah, I know. Do it all the time.
