I like the idea. Is the lettering actually down the shirt? or is it to be
in one line. I would like to see it on a shirt. I do some graphics and
have been involved in t-shirt ordering in bulk. The price sounds great. I
am just interested in the layout that would appeal to a wide range of
tastes. Color choices, etc. Good work, thanks, Laura

Howdy Park Advocates,
I am imploring you to please get ORGANIC Cotton shirts instead of pesticide drenched cotton from China, India or wherever. Cotton farming uses more pesticides per plant than any other agricultural product. Pesticides have been found in the Arctic Ocean recently.
Yes these might cost more, but are a much higher quality, much softer and as MLK said, "It's always the right time to do the right thing. "

I agree with Nancy.  I love the idea.  Maybe we could incorporate our logo on the back ( that was created for the stationary), and make the font  that says "Got Park?" on the front coordinate with the look of the logo?

How about this?  I may tweak it a bit in another program.  I want to do away with the hole in the tree.  I am doing some shirts with a local guy for another organization.  I am sure he would like the biz unless there is someone with a better connection.  I would go with good t's (cotton) and two colors or three depending on price. I writing this to be helpful - you need to think about how many t-shirts you think you can sell, and your different venues for selling them.  I know that at Graton Day, they always have t-shirts left over, and that the t-shirts aren't a particularly successful way of raising funds.  So, how do we have to spend, and how much do you think we'll raise?

Laura,

I like it!  Are they birds or white caps in the middle?  I assume birds but had to think for a moment.
I would also go with the organic cotton as was suggested in a previous e-mail.

Excellent reminder.  Do we have an idea of how many shirts and sales Graton Day produces?  That would probably be ballpark.

Sales will depend on how cheap we can make them. I'm not thinking for profit ,but for publisity, If we have  50 people at the fiesta  wearing the same tee shirt it would be a draw for people to join the club. I,d like to see us sell them at cost.. If we can make a design with 1 color printed on a kelly green tee shirt, they are only $4.25 a shirt. It sounds like Laura is ready for the task. Cricket

I support buying organic t-shirts, as well.  One of our design goals for the park is to build sustainably.  The !Fiesta! we a planning has a green team.  It wouldn't make sense to not keep to our principals for the t-shirts.

I was thinking green on tan.  The image and words would pop more.  Detail we can hash out and it does not take much time to actually do the shirts. Laura

Last night at an event planning meeting we decided to discuss the shirts at next week's meeting for the steering committee.  Many people are strongly in favor of organic shirts which will put the price a bit higher.  Whether or not we sell them is a separate decision.  I like green on a tan or neutral or dark green on lighter green, but I will wait to see what the options/costs are.  I would like to have a good shirt that people will wear around and advertise the cause.  My # is 827-3144. my schedule varies.  Email is good.

Hello All--

I agree with Nancy and Hollyn re: organic, safely dyed shirts.  I am writing this to address another issue that I think as important as the "green-ness" of the shirt.  At the fiesta planning meeting last night, we discussed what our goals were for the Fiesta de las Americas.  What we came up with was: Fundraising, public awareness, increased involvement, and to "show who we are" and gain credibility.

Speaking from the design perspective, I strongly urge those involved with the creation of a T-shirt, to use the existing logo for the graton green group, on the back of the T-Shirt.  I think we need to stay consistent, as one would in a business marketing plan, with anything marketing related that we do--T-shirts, posters, advertisments for fund-raising events, baseball caps, etc., etc.  This consistency will go a long way in helping us to gain that credibility we were discussing last night.

I don't have the contact info. for the person who did the logo.  If I did, I would contact her on this.  Hopefully, she receives this message and will contact Laura and Cricket (T-shirt team?).  Thanks everyone for your efforts, I am truly grateful for the opportunity to work with all of you on our park!  Get Park!

Best Regards,
