Hello,

This year several organic agriculture and grazing organizations in Wisconsin are collaborating to provide a combined virtual conference.  If you are interested in learning more about organic agriculture or managed grazing and you need financial assistance with the registration fee you can apply for a SARE scholarship at https://fyi.extension.wisc.edu/sustag/resources/scholarships/

See below for a brief description of the Growing Stronger conference and link to the conference website.

Regards,

Diane

Hi food system friends,

I’m reaching out with a reminder that the Growing Stronger Collaborative Conference on Organic & Sustainable Farming opens Monday, Feb. 22 and runs through Saturday, Feb. 27. This is the combined conference hosted by MOSES, OGRAIN, GrassWorks, Iowa Organic Association, and FairShare CSA Coalition.

This virtual conference is bringing together the organic and sustainable farming community to share ideas for stronger farms and food systems. We’ve packed in more than 90 workshops and roundtables plus over 100 exhibitors!

A few highlights:

Keynote—Farming in the Time of Climate Change

Monday, February 22, 10:30-Noon

Farmers/advocates Lea Zeise, Erin Schneider, and Jim Goodman zero in on ways to farm with people and the planet foremost in mind.

Indigenous Seed-to-Table + Cooking Demo

Wednesday, February 24, 9:00 a.m.

This special 2-hour workshop explores Indigenous farming, interspersed with cooking demos by Sean Sherman, Elena Terry, Luke Zahm, and Brian Yazzie.

Keynote—Shifting the System

Saturday, February 27, 10:30-Noon

Real Organic Project’s Linley Dixon talks to David Bronner, Francis Thicke, and Kate Mendenhall about ways we can all contribute to a more resilient and socially just food system. Also, hear key recommendations from Former Vice President Al Gore, Slow Money’s Woody Tasch, economist John Ikerd, and many other activists.

Evening sessions includes an hour with humorist Michael Perry, a crucial conversation with Vandana Shiva, and a social hour with music and cocktail demos from La Crosse Distillery.

Hope you can join MOSES and our partners for this one-of-a-kind virtual gathering!
