UW-Madison grad student, Ashley Becker, is reaching out to find the oldest grazed pastures. Is it yours? Know someone??

This is valuable research as we learn the effects of managed grazing on soil over time.

Reach out to Ashley if you've got a contender and please pass this along to others that may have good leads.

Do you think you might have one of the oldest grazed pastures in the Upper Midwest? If so, we’d love to hear from you!

We’re looking for grazed pastures more than 35 years old, but farmers with the top 10 oldest pastures will each receive a $25 gift card.

From the pasture, we would like to collect ten 2-cm wide soil cores. We also want to learn about the pasture management, hear its history, and see any aerial photos you have. Share your story with us, and we’ll share our findings with you!

If you have details about a pasture site, please email UW-Madison graduate student, Ashley Becker, at aebe...@wisc.edu or give her a call at 563-579-1108
