2022 Summer Picnic and Pasture Walk

July 30th, 2022

11am - 3pm

We invite you to join us and others in the grazing community for this year's GrassWorks Summer Picnic and Pasture Walk!

REGISTER today! - DEADLINE to register is July 23rd!

This year's event will be hosted by the Steinke family at their Sedge Wood Farms near Cornell, WI.

Learn from fellow graziers, Ashly and Stacy, how they: manage their land to enhance ecosystem function, direct market, partner with local restaurants to get great, local, grass fed products to consumers, and host an on-farm Air BnB.

There will be a pasture walk, presentation by Dale Gentry of the Audubon Society of Minnesota, a great meal, music and more!

Cost is $10/person and kids are welcome and eat free.
Meal will include Sedge Wood Farm grass-fed beef brisket smoked by Northwoods Brew Pub. YUM!

THANKS to River Alliance of Wisconsin for sponsoring the

ICE CREAM!

Our featured speaker, Dale Gentry, will be presenting on Audubon's new Conservation Ranching Inititative.

Audubon developed the Conservation Ranching Initiative as a market-based conservation approach that offers incentives for good grassland stewardship through a certification label on beef products. For the first time, consumers can contribute to grassland conservation efforts by selectively purchasing beef from Audubon-certified farms and ranches. The Audubon certification seal brings a broad market appeal that enhances demand by consumers that want options for beef that is sustainably raised and benefits wildlife habitat.

Steinke's have restored many acres of wetlands, planted trees, prairies, and are continually doing their best to encourage biodiversity on their farm. Their farming practices are designed to protect groundwater and nourish and build the soil.
