POSITION OF TRUSTEE

After its inception on 2 October 2004, the Grassroots India Trust (GIT) constituted first Board of Trustee in August 2005, which was due to be revised in September 2007. Due to certain reasons the meeting of Board of Trustees could not take place in September 2007. It has now been fixed to take place on 17 February 2008.

Meanwhile, the Executive Committee has proposed the expansion of Board of Trustees from 7 members to 11. One or two previous members might also retire from the current Board. To fill in the vacancies, therefore, new Trustees are needed to be selected and nominated to function as the member of revised Board of Trustees from 17 February 2008 onwards. The revised Board would function for at least 1 year with the possibility of extension for another 1-2 years. Thus Letter of Interest for the position of Trustees is invited from senior women and men to give the organization concrete shape in next 2-3 years. The position of Trustee is fully voluntary and bears no implication of salary, as per the rules of the Government.
