PRESS RELEASE

 

New Delhi. 31 May 2008. Rainbow Camp was organized by An-Noor Women's Welfare Organization from 25 May to 30 May 2008 for the school children aged 10-20 years.

 

Main objective pf the Rainbow Camp was to develop social and moral values among these students. In the 6-day Camp many eminent5 scholars, educationists and social workers were invited to enlighten the participants about different important values.

 

Mr. Saiyid Hamid, IAS, the Chancellor of Jamia Hamdarad, highlighted the importance of service towards humanity while addressing the children. He emphasized that today's comfortable and luxurious life is due to the sacrifices made by our forefathers. Now it is our duty to repay.

 

Among other eminent scholars were Dr. Aslam Parvez, Prof. Akhtar Wasey, Dr. Rafique, Prof. Nafees Ahmad, Prof. Aftab Zaidi and Mr. Akhtar. 95 students from 16 public schools participated in the Camp. The girls outnumbered the boys as the voluntary organization is committed towards the welfare of girls. Its motto is "for the women, by the women".

 

During the Camp many competitions were held such as debates, group discussions, best out of waste, story writing, etc. The stories written by the children were published in the 'souvenir' of An-Noor Women's Welfare Organization, which was released at the time of valedictory function by Mr. Saiyid Hamid.
