Just Two, Tata Power & BSES Destroyed Mahaharashtra-
It is always a pleasure to read you messages because you think exactly like Manmohan Singh or Kamal Nath or Naryan Murthy who believe "Commission Agent Kind Are Good For Everything" when actually they are good for nothing in open and competitive environment. They are nothing but jokers.
In a fiercely competitive world where Daimler Benz could not make Chrysler competitive, Tatas and Ambanis are nothing but petty Commission Agents. India has no future with such people.
None of Indian corporate has skills to compete in the world market. They always need GOI shield to protect them.
Voltas is a 50 years old company of over Rs.1900 Crores turnover but collaborating with petty companies to make air-conditioners. Sanjay you talk of pride, Tatas collaborate for
0.45m Eoros. Where is pride in this?
Tatas shamed India and Shahjahan who built Taj Mahal a wonder, first by naming shoe brand as "Taj" and couldn't make even quality shoes, Nike came much later but is worth more than all Tata companies. Except manipulations and corrupting our institutions know nothing.
[VOLTAS; Five decades ago, Voltas took its first step by installing India's first air conditioner. Ever since, we have never looked back and achieved one
milestone after another. As this saga continues, we take pride in calling ourselves India ka dil. India ka AC.] – Annual Report 2005-6
"25.---During the year under review, WML became a subsidiary of the Company. WML, a limited liability company registered in the Isle of Man, is engaged in the business of manufacturing galvanized iron,
aluminium, black mild steel and stainless steel duct and has its manufacturing facility in Jebel Ali Free Zone, UAE."
"26. SERMO-PM INDIA LIMITED (SPMIL). ---- divested its 50% shareholding in SPMIL on 6th October, 2005 in favour of a Japanese listed group – ARRK for a consideration of Euro 450000 (equivalent to Rs.
239.40 lakhs). The shareholders agreement was also terminated and SPMIL ceased to be a joint venture of the Company effective that date."
"27. (UCPL), a joint venture company between Voltas and Fedders is engaged in the business of manufacturing airconditioners and has its Plant at Dadra. --UCPL is in the process of establishing a new manufacturing facility with annual capacity of 300000 units at Pantnagar in
Uttaranchal, which is an excise free zone. "
Tatas are disgracing in collaborating to manufacture "Airconditioning" ducts and collaborating with Fedders and petty companies.
Today Tata entered in to collaboration with Changi Airports International, Tatas will take 51% equity, there are hundreds better qualified in India than Tatas "But Tatas Know How To Bribe, Manipulate & Work Through Corrupt System".
It is childish of you to blame politicians and bureaucrats for licenses and controls- It is Tatas and Ambanis who want these controls and dictate GOI policies. Like big dogs outside a butchers shop they rush to grab any GOI contract. Condition of every contract is give 51% equity to Tatas/Ambanis. Both jumped after Sasan project when its foreign partner Globeleq Singapore wanted to exit and grab Lanco project than working on their existing projects.
How many power plants they have commissioned in 10 years? 100 MW diesel genset was Tatas gift to Maharashtra where it operated power projects for 80 years.
Just two Tata Power and REL are enough to destroy Maharashtra. For five year I was telling you all how they are charging Rs.4-5
per unit for electricity when NTPC was producing electricity under Rs.1/- unit.
Loot, Extortion, No Direction or Vision & Diversion Of Capital By Just Two was such that now Maharashtra is experiencing 14 hours of power cut.
Who was supporting R.V. Shahi? It was Ambanis and Tatas. It was not possible for mediocre R.V. Shahi to secure Secretary position without corporate support.
GDP of Maharashtra is barely $70b, Singapore has $116b, who is responsible?
Corporate India cannot export $20b worth of goods in a year, INTEL alone export more. I read recently Corporate India is worth $1000b who is preventing them from exporting products. When they couldn't sell anything they went on shopping of companies siphoning off Indian resources. They can't do anything without "Foreign Collaboration".
Ratan Tata and Corporate were "Fattened" when Manmohan Singh allowed them to manipulate shares and raise their equity holdings from 3% to 30% or so at the expense of shareholders. Three four times Stock Market was rigged.
It is nonsense that GOI prevented Tatas or Mohindras from developing new engines and technologies and market them globally. Who prevented them in last 15 years. They couldn't develop a single technology.
R.V. Shahi wanted to split NTPC in to four parts and give the best chunks to Tatas and Ambanis. It is he who manipulated to make sure NTPC didn't get to execute more than 5200 MW in last five years.
It is people like Tatas who prevented expansion of SAIL.
Regarding power sector in Delhi, Reliance and Tatas corrupted the bureaucrats in to inflating losses from 40% to 50% before take over and agreed to bring them down to 35%.
You know better how long it takes to install a steel plant but tell me how long it takes to install 4000 meters to distribution transformers? They replaced consumer meters 3-4 times in five years, replaced 15 meters readers in each zone and changed Connection number 3 times.
You are also repeating Kiran Karnik joke, who wants to retain employees and train them? Who is interested in training them? Young professionals are inducted 11AM to 11 PM job schedule. But they invariably work even 14-15 hours on back office work.
Anil Ambani can only order you to Rigg Meters or Set Up Re-Routing Exchange. They simply don't know a thing about technology and development.
Indian IT companies also don't want to train because they know once a person is trained and acquired competence they will ask for more salary are join some other company.
You have not explained what is the contribution of Ratan Tata, Anil Ambani, Sunil Mittal Or Birla in Mobile Telecom Business? Hansets are made by Nokia, exchanges by Siemens, Routers by CISCO and most of the services are outsourced.
You need capable people to develop technologies and it needs money and hard work.
I have commented several times about Reliance Petroleum. I have never heard of a company selling the products of rival after backing down its own units. RP corrupted GOI and IOL in to selling its 20 MT products after backing down own units. Not only that cost of transportation from Jamnagar is at least
Rs.2 per liter to Delhi and 5 liters to East zone.
It is KD and I who campaigned against it repeatedly to the President. Reliance was forced to set up 1200 petrol pumps. It was priced
Rs.2/- more than public sector companies in Punjab.
We also campaigned against Rs.1526 Crores/year "Export Incentive" for exporting refinery products. We have no objection if Ambani invest his own hard earned money, not from cheating of consumers, in such projects and against any free land and tax holidays.
Had Ambanis set up a 4000 MW Thermal Power Plant instead both Maharashtra and Gujarat may not have faced any power cuts.

Dear Ravinder Singh ji,
High Growth Sectors In India And Foreign Contribution- Exclusive
In modern political economy Government's money and liability are different from that of corporate and also from that of customers. With accelerating porosity of globalizing economies, there is opportunity to avoid government's liability becoming liability of individual or that of corporate Companies. Therefore government should not assume its sovereign rights to be omnipotent to pass on any inefficiently incurred cost to the taxpayers. Tata Steel sending money aboard, which is less than 1/3 of the price of take over, is their ownership right because it is the Company's money and the money should be used for Company's growth. It is futile to think some larger public interest higher than their ownership right. On the hand business is also done for arrogance, expression of power and audacity besides profit. Corporate are entitled to these legitimate goals.
For last 60 years mining of iron ore is vested in the government/s. How much time it should take for starting steel manufacturing plants if primacy of private sector in production is admitted? If we make plethora of laws & rules those are incomprehensible, contradictory and retrograde, we can prove every one of the citizen as guilty and criminal. The rules and guidelines help in enriching lawyers, consultants and liaison agents. The society should make its mind how much scrutiny helps in protecting public goods and how much is misused for enriching corrupt Babus and Ministers. In administrative control process government installs reports, annual returns and certified copies without sharing responsibility of social regulation (environment protection and labour interest) with the businessmen. But that will still not address the problem environment, equity, employment, workers interest we are living in for 60 years. But making those goals more important than employment generation and development of the Bihar, Jharkhand, Orissa and WB is not very appealing idea. Making Mittal, Tata Steel and Posco wait for 10 years may help in boosting the ego of bureaucracy/ politicians for control over rich and powerful, extracting rent (bribe) or help is giving impression of fair and equity to the public. But that will not solve problem of employment, hunger in backward region nor it will provide money to the government for running schools and hospital in backward area. If government gets sadistic pleasure in keeping Tata Steel resources idle, Tata Steel will have to find ways to invest money at other profitable ventures, if required abroad. The assumption that resources those not sent abroad, are available for alternative productive purpose within India is at best a superstition. )
This is result of government policies practiced for last 60 years to protect, poor gullible Indians from profiteering business people though "Licence Permit Quota Raj" and overtly protective labour policies. While it is possible to pay higher wages to the workers, managing 44 inspectors is painful process, and otherwise unproductive. Today we have private sector shy of investing in labour intensive businesses and technologies. Otherwise also due to poor quality education, many people are unfit to join new economy businesses. Nasscom has complained that even professional qualifications are woefully substandard.
In this message you complained about Indian Companies in India serving foreign customers. Here you find pitiable that some other private sector Company is trying to serve customers less rich than potential car customers of yesteryears. You complain when Reliance sells petrol through IOC/ HP/ BP. You also complain when Reliance exports petrol, because it loads losses on IOC. You also complain when Reliance installs special refinery for exports. What is the conclusion of your disapproval, complains and displeasure? And exactly what kind of action from these greedy crooks meet your approval?
Out of the 167 countries in the world less than 6 manufacture passenger aircraft or cargo aircraft. The statement is factually true. Are you suggesting that Indian people should not travel by air, should stop importing aircraft/ parts? Are Japanese and Koreans are fool not to manufacture aircraft? It is irony that starting passenger airline in India is easier than starting passenger bus service or electricity generation plant because we are obsessed with protecting the poor gullible Indian from profiteering business people for last 60 years. We will deny the bus service, electricity connection, telephone service, potable water to villagers and poor people because they should be protected from these crooks by sovereign powers of government. But we should not allow private sector to sell the service to them. Under the government ownership of Indian Airlines, my father, with 38 years of government job, could not dream of traveling in air. But last month he traveled in GoAir at 65 years age with my salary. He could not have telephone under DoT with locally manufactured parts. But my mother has mobile, knowing fully well it is more expensive than BSNL with all foreign parts lock stock and barrel. This shows that society is making choices, surely against government ownership.
Is this observation adequate for de-legitimizing the business? For that matter any new economic activity always have smaller presence to begin with. The private mobile service was also very small in 1994, but now grown 3 times in private sector than the fixed lines in government ownership. Government should be held responsible for other 99% not able to participate for lack of quality education. This happens due to defective mindset of hating wealth, waiting for government to dole out food/health care and mistrust on private sector service providers.
In telecom sector apart from foreign shareholding most of the equipment are imported.
Till National Telecom Policy 1994, manufacturing of hardware in private sector was illegal. Once telecom sector was opened for private sector, it was easier to enter in service with imported components than produce to sell to BSNL/MTNL. After maturing of the sector circa 2002, we are yet to see proper policies in place to encourage manufacturing in India.
Manufacturing license of Tata Motors and Mahindra till 1987 was restricted to Commercial Vehicle and Jeep. Therefore 50 years has only academic value.
Here you are ridiculing for not manufacturing luxury products. Earlier you also ridiculed them for their plan of manufacturing cheap cars.
Hero Honda is Indian Company and Honda is about to exit from it shortly.
How about changing policies, if desirable, in these sectors without waiting for foreign lobbyist? The policies should promote private sector, employment and customers. Mining is still under state monopoly and foreign investors are not interested in lobbying for mining.
