Greetings!
This is in connection to our Invitation to join us on 3 February at Raipur, as we have been organizing a Regional Consultation on "People's Rights to Food and Accountable Governance".

Shri Gandhi Seva Ashram (SGSA), Sarguja has been advocating the people's rights to food and accountable governance for about 2 years through systematically designed Food and Democracy Campaign. Grassroots India Trust, New Delhi has been giving media, networking and research support in the Campaign. Under the Campaign, recently a Cycle Rally and Satyagrah Rally were organized with great success. The issues raised by the local people especially tribes and other poor were documented and some of them were presented in the form of Memorandum to the President of India, the Governor and few others.
In a bid to intensively focus on the issues concerning hunger, poverty and misgovernance, and to galvanize collective action in Chhattisgarh state and in neighboring central Indian states, Food and Democracy Campaign intends to organize 1-day Regional Consultation at Raipur.
The objectives of the Regional Consultation are as follows:
· To debate the issues and concerns covered in Food and Democracy Campaign, and to share the findings of PDS, PESA and Accountabilities studies.
· To discuss intensively the issues, dimensions of problems, and policy updates and its implications on tribes, poor and marginalized.
· To discourse the collective ways of action on common areas of concern.
· To evolve the collective action strategies at state and regional level.
