Dear friends,

The election is a week from Tuesday, nine days away! Yesterday the candidates participated in one more forum, at the public library, sponsored by the Democratic precincts of Coker Hills and several neighboring precincts. We appreciate Genie Jansen and those who worked with her for organizing the event.

Early Voting

Early voting continues this week at the Old Post Office on Franklin Street, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., as well as Saturday Nov. 3, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Early voting continues at Carrboro Town Hall (you can get a Chapel Hill ballot there too), same days and hours.

Endorsement ad

I'm planning to run an endorsement ad in the Chapel Hill News. Many of you have kindly volunteered your names in the ad. I appreciate that very much. If you would still be willing to let me use your names in the ad as endorsement of my candidacy, that would be great. But I must know by 9 a.m. tomorrow (Monday the 29th), for the deadline is approaching.

Volunteer opportunities

Election Day is Tuesday, November 6th from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.  I particularly need volunteers during the morning rush from 7 to 9 a.m. and the afternoon rush from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.  But any time during the day you can help is much appreciated.  Please e-mail Tom Jensen at tje...@email.unc.edu to let him know when you can work and what precinct you would like to work at.

Thank you!!!

As the campaign approaches the moment of truth, I just want to say again how much I appreciate the support of all of you. It boosts my spirits and keeps me going. I'm heartened by your confidence in me and inspired by your own willingness to participate in the political processes that are so important to keeping Chapel Hill the kind of place we all love to live in while dealing responsibly with the challenges of growth and change. Thank you, thank you.

Finally, don't forget to vote--and to tell all your friends to vote. Bring them to the polls with you!  You have many opportunities (see above). No excuses!

Cheers,
Sally
