The original Kumoon game was the winner of the 2005 Assembly Game Development competition. It was also a shareware hit with millions of downloads worldwide.

Kumoon is a game with realistic physics and the mission is to knock over boxes. The puzzles in the game are solved by a little robot called 'Naksu', using the space and the target boxes as it's private space-billiard table. There's a lot of puzzles to chew on, and stuff to shoot at, but 0% carrying boxes around. Kumoon is a non-violent shooter, with a wide audience. Kids as young as 6 can grasp the game and enjoy the easier levels, and hardcore players will find their own more difficult and challenging areas to enjoy.

Oculus Rift-display support has been built in from the ground up and tested at the Assembly and Mngude gaming events. Caveat : It runs on the outdated 0.5/0.6 Runtime for the moment. We aim to update at the latest once the Rift sdk reaches 1.0. On launch the game is playable both with or without the DK2 developer kit headmounted display, and will be updated for the consumer version of Oculus, launching next year. We hope to support the HTC Vive as well once it comes out.

Kumoon has now been resurrected bigger and better and with Virtual Reality support. Kumoon : Ballistic Physics Puzzle was designed by Ricardo Haratani and Tuomas Karmakallio for Lucky You Studio. Graphics by Kalle Olli, level design by Mikko Kuitunen. Soundtrack composers include Skaven, Myssi, Tommi Salomaa, Eraser, EvsY, Ilmari Tiitinen and Aleksi Eeben.

We got the game translated to 25 languages! PolyglotGamedev crowdsourcing gave us 95% of the menus and settings, leaving just a handful of custom strings to fill out! Here's a link to the project: bit.ly/1ESPiO6.

Finally a word on how indie one can be? We worked out of a tattoo studio, bubblegum and shoelace budget, and now we face the gauntlet of selling the game in a space where the ratio of purchase to 'add to wishlist' is about 1:20. We hope we can survive to make more VR games!

Finally, here is an image of how we are converting from a 2-dimensional GUI system to a 3-dimensional one. We create the GUI in the inbuilt system of the Shiva engine, and run some code which then converts the gui elements into object in the 3d space. This is just one of the things that is absolutely necessary to support VR. It may seem obvious, but the amount of R&D that goes into developing a VR game at this early stage is not to be underestimated.

This video demonstrates the game's single player campaign, showing the first tutorial mission and the final mission.

The immediate person that comes to mind is PDK Hot Apps Winner Jopacus Parrott. More recently the folks at Modern Alchemists used it for their game Aeon Racer. Both of these are great examples of modern mobile games with unique styles made in the Shiva engine.

Shiva is a 3D game engine but as you can see in Aeon Racer, it can also do 2D. There are a couple different options. I am planning a future set of tutorials on making 2D games in Shiva using a method similar to Aeon Racer. Goodbye SDL and HTML5 Canvas.

The release schedule seems to be really picking up on the Shiva engine. Last year was months of silence with very few releases, while this release comes just under 2 months since the prior release. Shiva is a C# based game engine with a WYSIWYG world editor. Now in the 5th release of Beta 2, this release adds two new modules as well as several bug fixes and changes.

Sound on tvOS is back. We are sorry for including the wrong engine in beta 4, but this new version should fix the audio issues most of you were experiencing. Touch on WinRT Mobile has also been fixed. Some developers were reporting errors in certain screen corners, those problems should be solved. CYGWIN for BlackBerry and Android compilation on Windows is back too. Although we still recommend compiling those platforms on OSX or Linux where cygwin is not required. Cleaning up the new rendering pipeline continues as well. Especially VR developers will be happy to hear that a shader compilation bug has been fixed that was holding them up.

ShiVa is a versatile video game development engine that comes up with an extensive built-in graphical editor developed to produce video games and apps for the web, game consoles, desktop PCs as well as cellular devices. It is a cross-platform game engine, you can export the games developed with ShiVa3D to over 20 target platforms. With the next version of this engine i.e. ShiVa 2.0, the graphic Editor is under development. This is a featureful Engine, a list of core features of this top notch game engine is mentioned below:

The ShiVa Editor has been used to develop games in the ShiVa3D Engine, a WYSIWYG RAD tool is basically crafted to allow the developers to develop 3D application and games in a certain period of time. Moreover, the ShiVa Editor is capable enough to export executable games. The experienced developers may also use it for exporting Xcode, Visual Studio or Eclipse projects to alter games in their prioritized IDE. Some of the highlighted features of ShiVa editor are as under:

Project Description - This art work is showing the existence and power of Hindu God Lord shiva.
Whenever he is around we can feel his power and existence. The dramatic music, the storm, the rain coming down upon the shivlinga,Thunder and lightning all these elements added to create a chaotic atmosphere.

This stone is a Shivlingam. Shivalingam is the most prevalent icon of lord shiva which is virtually found in all shiva temples.A holy and divine symbol of the lord, which is considered sacred by the devotees of the lord shiva. Infect worship of this linga considered superior as it helps us believe that god does not have any
definite form yet he is so powerful.

Yes i can add more wind in fact on foliage also but i have restrictions with my GPU its only 3GB already this project is out of video memory. This is the max i tried to pulled out from this existing GPU.

Yea, i saw that about Shiva. I am a bit suprised that there are no some good quality free game engines. Of course, that Panda3D would do it, but it is really hard to find good tutorials (including Blender -> Panda), and question is how many problems i would get into before even starting doing something.

As for game, we just want some basic First Person camera that can move around map, nothing special, no AI, no guns, just little physics (like animated doors). So what you propose BGE or something else??

The unity free version is very good. You can find some good free scripts to start out with. And it has a active community.Lots of
tutorial information on the websight. You have to buy the unity pro game engine if your company makes 100,000 dollars off of a unity game.

You forget to mention that a large number of top tier features only work in the pro edition (1500 USD). This includes a few things you currently take for granted in the BGE (render textures, 2D filters, and I think custom shaders).

Also, the Unity material editor I hear does not come with as much stuff out of the box as in the BGE (if you want extensive node-based material building and the like, prepare to spend some money on a plugin).

Custom shaders are not something blocked by Unity Free. The big things I think that Pro has is the post processing, render textures and video playback. Though for the render textures and video playback there are some work arounds.

Can someone PLEASE help me get shape keys on to UDK as morph targets? I am brand new to these forums, and im not sure of whats appropriate to post, but I saw a comment about shape keys with just a few clicks, and I am having the hardest time getting them on

Blueprint is simply what made my life so much easier since i am not from a programming background, i consider myself more of a tech artist since i was very familiar with state machine logic and blueprint is even more than this.

"As more people find out about the power and ease-of-use of the platform, as well as our single license program, we know that we need to also have the best resources and tools outside of ShiVa 3D for the community. The new site will fulfill that need as we grow the engine and show the world what ShiVa can do."
