Ifyou need a reminder of how popular nursery rhymes are around the world, just go to youtube and look at the viewing counts! Many of the most popular online videos of all time are either kids songs or nursery rhymes. Here's the rundown of the most popular kids songs on youtube of all time:

Since we first took the counts last year in October 2022 the fastest riser was 'Wheels on the Bus'. It rose from 12th most popular youtube video of all time to 7th most popular while increasing views from 4.4 billion to 5.6 billion!

There are several reasons why kids songs, including nursery rhymes, are so popular on YouTube. The first reason is that they are a timeless form of entertainment. Nursery rhymes have been passed down through generations and continue to be enjoyed by children of all ages. They are simple, catchy, and easy to learn, making them perfect for young children who are just beginning to learn language and music.

Another reason for their popularity is the educational value of these songs. Nursery rhymes are often used to teach children basic concepts such as numbers, letters, and shapes. They also help to develop language skills and improve memory retention. Many parents and caregivers turn to YouTube as a source of educational content for their children, making nursery rhymes a popular choice.

The rise of technology has also played a role in the popularity of nursery rhymes on YouTube. With the widespread availability of smartphones, tablets, and other devices, it's easier than ever for children to access videos online. The videos that are easily accessible, interactive, and visually appealing are more likely to be popular among children.

Additionally, YouTube provides an easy and accessible platform for parents and caregivers to share these songs and videos with their children, making them even more popular. With the click of a button, parents can share a video with their friends and family, which can make it go viral.

Nursery Rhymes on YouTube have become a business, with creators monetizing their content through advertising, merchandise, and sponsorships. This has led to an increase in the number of nursery rhyme videos being created and shared on YouTube, making them more accessible to a wider audience.

One of the most common ways to monetize nursery rhyme videos on YouTube is through advertising. Creators can sign up for the YouTube Partner Program, which allows them to place ads on their videos and earn money from views. This can be a significant source of income for creators who have a large number of views and a dedicated audience.

Another way to monetize nursery rhyme videos on YouTube is through merchandise. Many creators have merchandise stores where they sell products such as clothing, toys, and other items related to their videos. This can be a great way to generate additional income and connect with fans.

In addition, creators can partner with brands and sponsors to create sponsored content, this way the creators can monetize their content and at the same time, help the brands to reach a specific audience.

It's worth mentioning that YouTube has strict guidelines for monetizing content for children. Creators must follow these guidelines to ensure that their videos are appropriate for children and that they comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

Animation has played a significant role in the popularity of nursery rhymes on YouTube. The visual aspect of animated nursery rhymes has made them an attractive and engaging option for children, who are often drawn to the colorful characters and playful animations.

Many of the most popular nursery rhymes on YouTube feature animation in some form. From hand-drawn illustrations to 3D animation, these videos use a variety of techniques to bring the rhymes to life. Many creators use animation to add a modern twist to traditional nursery rhymes, making them more visually appealing and engaging for children.

Animation also allows creators to include elements of fantasy and imagination in nursery rhymes, which can be especially appealing to young children. For example, in the nursery rhyme "Mary Had a Little Lamb" the lamb is often animated as a fluffy creature that interacts with other characters in a playful way, this animation makes the rhyme more engaging and fun for children.

When it comes to quality nursery rhymes, the creators of Mother Goose Club are dedicated to producing and distributing only the very best content to serve their young, global audience. This means every nursery rhyme must engage, entertain and, most importantly, educate. Whether it be a traditional work like "The Wheels on the Bus", or an original like "Driving in My Car", Mother Goose Club holds all of its content to the highest educational standards.

Children also learn through repetition. This is why many nursery rhymes for babies use simple words and melodies. Have you ever noticed that "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" and "ABC Song" share the same melody? And nursery rhymes generally have predictable story arcs with a beginning, middle and end. Each time a child sings a rhyme, they deepen their understanding of the content and improve their comprehension skills.

Mother Goose Club is a series of educational programs for preschoolers featuring six colorful characters from the Mother Goose world. Distributed on YouTube, Netflix and Amazon and broadcast on local PBS stations nation-wide, Mother Goose Club is the proud winner of four Midsouth EMMY awards and 15 other industry awards.

Singing nursery rhymes with your children can help develop their language and communication skills. Nursery rhymes often feature rhythmic patterns and simple repetitive phrases that children remember and join in with.

At nursery singing is part of the daily routine. Below is a nursery rhyme booklet with some of the rhymes that we are learning this term. Penny, our music teacher, has recorded videos of the rhymes so you can sing along with your children at home.

Doc Brown: Doc rapped Once I Caught a Fish Alive in full fisherman's gear at a rock beach, caught a fish with gloved hands, took off a glove, revealing it to be covered in a mix of real blood and fake blood and punched a fish with it, claiming to have cut his hand on the fish's scales. He received 5 points.

Joe Wilkinson: Joe made a music video for Old MacDonald Had a Farm, getting Alex to dress up as different animals in front of a green screen, including a farmer's hat for McDonald, a pig nose, a duck mask, two milk bottles for a cow, coconut shells for a horse, a chicken hat and glued on cotton balls for a sheep, while Joe sang the rhyme in an incredibly monotone voice. Both Greg and Joe found it incredibly annoying. He received 2 points.

Jon Richardson: Whilst coming up with ideas, Jon sang a remixed version of Hey Diddle Diddle (Hey Diddle Diddle, the cat did a piddle, all over the kitchen floor, the little dog laughed to see such fun, so the cat did a little bit more). Jon made an instrumental video for Three Blind Mice showing the aftermath of the nursery rhyme, with the camera panning towards a block of cheese, 3 pairs of sunglasses, 3 walking sticks, a trail of blood, a bloody knife and Jon in a maid outfit, with a bloody mouse tail hanging out of his mouth. Greg found it nightmarish, creepy and strangely attractive. Katherine also mentioned that she wouldn't show it to her child. He received 5 points.

Katherine Ryan: Whilst coming up with ideas, Katherine sang Peanut on a Railroad Track (Peanut on a railroad track, heart's all a-fluttered, along comes a great big train, choo-choo peanut butter), which Greg suggested was merely a fever dream she had. Katherine made up her own nursery rhyme (she also wrote the music, illustrated it and sung it) called James the Dirty Tooth about a dental hygiene, featuring James, a decaying tooth who ate and drank sugary food and drinks, never brushed and who was hated by everyone. Alex featured in the rhyme by brushing his teeth at points. Greg said that it seemed like an audition for Glee. She received 4 points.

Richard Osman: Richard had to look up examples of nursery rhymes as he didn't know any off the top of his head. Richard made an advert for Johnson's wheelbarrows before parodying Bitter Sweet Symphony by The Verve with his rendition of Coming Round the Mountain. In the video, he knocked over a couple people and climbed into a shed, giving Greg the idea that he lived in it. He received 3 points.

We all grew up with the classic nursery rhymes and songs we know too well. But did you know that learning them was important for our developmental growth?1 Nursery rhymes are said to have been created to teach children about morality, rules, and history. Of course, many of the verses are outdated or sometimes politically incorrect these days. That does not mean we turn on the radio and skip the old-school classics with our little ones! Nursery rhymes are still vastly important to growing many developmental skills.

Nursery rhymes are most important in helping promote language skills in babies and early toddlers.2 Repetition, simplicity, and musicality help children learn words and sounds and how to link them together to communicate better. Add finger or body movements to them, and now you are promoting gross motor, fine motor, 1-2 step directions, and listening skills all in one!

This is a classic and maybe the most popular nursery rhyme to date. Like all rhymes, it helps our littles understand repetition and explains the world above us. Where do stars live? What do they do? It then leaves that question of wonder for our littles to explore more. Pairing with our classic finger play, this rhyme also helps develop gross and fine motor skills.
