the top line earlier era was : in poorva halle kannada (todakkathu-pazhaiya kannadam):- sri chaamunda raaja maadisidam (meaning: 983ce-the great chaamunda king erected the gommata : same meaning in tamil inscription as well
the bottom line later era was: in halle kannada (pazhaiya kannadam) sri ganga raaja suthaalayam maadisidam (meaning: 1116ce- the great ganga king build the enclosure round (sutru-aalayam) of the gommata.
