GPNW CRIME ALERT

[Grant Park Neighborhood Watch]

In the past few days there have been two disturbing incidents on the east side of Grant Park. Two women were robbed while exiting their vehicle on Ormewood Ave, 700 block. This incident occurred at around midnight. We do no have a description of suspects.

On Saturday night, also around midnight, at Oldfield on Mead Street one resident had his car stolen and a couple was robbed and shot at while entering their residence. The suspects are young black males, 2 or 4 in the group. Since the incidents occurred almost simultaneously, it's not clear exactly how many were involved.

This morning (Oct 10) there was a high speed chase involving 6 or more Georgia State Patrol cars chasing a white vehicle which ended in a crash in the area of Cherokee Ave. and Mead St.

ALWAYS BE ALERT AND AWARE WHILE ENTERING/EXITING YOUR HOME OR VEHICLE, ESPECIALLY LATE AT NIGHT.

ALWAYS CALL 911 TO REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY AND TRY TO GET AN ACCURATE DESCRIPTION OF SUSPECTS AND VEHICLES.

The Grant Park Security Patrol is discussing the possibility of adding several night shifts to the existing patrols. They'll be searching for an evening watch officer who would patrol for us in the 11PM to 1AM time period a couple nights a week. These officers are off duty police officers.
