William,

Do you have any timeline at the moment regarding your plans to upgrade the gdsflex plugin to Grails 2.0?

Grails 2.0 is a major advance over 1.3.7 so it would be fantastic to be able to use it.

I fear the only answer I can give is as soon as I can find some time to dot it...

I'm increasingly suffering the pain of being stuck on Grails 1.3.7 and Groovy 1.7. What can we do to move this along? Do you want me to try and work on it? Have you made any progress on it and if so is the code checked in?

Regards,
John

Well hopefully I'll find some time to work on this in the coming weeks.
Of course that would be extremely helpful if you can try to make the existing plugin work with Grails 2.0 and post JIRAs for the problems you will find.
Even better if you can suggest patches, but even simple JIRAs will at least give me a good idea of the amount of work required.

OK well I've kicked this off now. I think it shouldn't actually be too much work. The good news is that the basic functionality of getting some objects via service call works fine.

Unfortunately Gravity isn't working and I'm not really sure where to go to solve this bug: http://www.graniteds.org/jira/browse/GDSFLEX-34. Perhaps the solution is in org.granite.config.GraniteConfigListener?
So I'm kind of stopped at the moment. If you can look into that, I can do further tests.

Great. Not sure if you follow the grails-dev list but there were some important announcements recently. Looks like you'll have to move the code over to github, which is probably a good thing anyway as then it can live near its friends :-). See: http://grails.github.com/grails-howtos/en/migrateToTheNewCentralRepository.html and http://grails.1312388.n4.nabble.com/FAO-Plugin-Authors-Important-changes-to-plugin-publication-td4469544.html

I see that there has been a lot of activity related to getting things working with Grails 2.0 in the master branch on the Grails plugin.  Any thoughts on when a new plugin will be officially released?

Best,
Rob

I think it's ready to release now. I'm using it in prod already.
William just needs to write to the grails dev list and get permission
to release it according to the new Grails plugin release process. If
you prefer William, I can obtain the permissions and release it for
you.

Ce serait dommage de pas lui répondre, d'autant qu'il veut bien tout faire...

Hi John,
No problem if you want to do the release, could you just put me in copy so I'm aware of what has been done.
Do you have a link to the new plugin release process, I could not find it (however I did not search that long...).

Hi Guys,

Was just searching for a gdsflex update to work with Grails 2.x

Did we ever get this completed?

Thanks in advance.
