At National Convention, ="In annual address, National Grange President calls for fiscal responsibility. But evidently the National Grange does not have the money to "print and send an edition of the New Grange in 2013 "due to budgetary constraints". Wonder how often that has happened.

Anyone have information on where all the money went? Also would be interested in knowing detailed breakdown where the Grange Money comes from.

Was this part of the reason National was so interested in taking over our State Office and seizing the California Grange assets?

Just curious, but as I posted earlier - things in the Grange are pretty hush hush - so no one seems to know what is going on.

The New Grange Newsletter Notification for 2013

Dear Brothers and Sisters

Today it is important to inform you that, due to budgetary constraints, the National Grange will not print and send an edition of the New Grange in 2013. However, the Communications Department is committed to providing information to all members and asks each of you to assist in this effort.

Please spread the word that the National Grange will produce and distribute e-newsletters on a regularly scheduled basis for all members who provide email addresses to swil...@nationalgrange.org or abro...@nationalgrange.org. Information can also be regularly found at www.nationalgrange.org.

If you know members who do not have email or the internet, please volunteer or find someone in your Grange who will print and distribute the e-newsletter editions to members. The National Grange looks forward to continuing to serve its wonderful members and hopes each member will do their part in providing their Brothers and Sisters with information - both to the National Grange about local Grange events and activities and information from the National Grange to all of our members.

Thank you in advance for your assistance.

Having read the National Grange Master's address raised questions for other of us who do not live in California as well. The points you have brought up regarding where Grange money on the National level comes from have come up inconversation with other Grangers I have spoken to and, because of unwanted closures of Grange Halls across the country, the question of what happens to the money from sale of Grange property is a question I'd like to know the answer to.
I cannot help but think of the hard work it took founding members of local Granges to build and maintain halls that in fact are not their own if they are closed against the will of the members. The sale of Grange property does not even benefit the communities that have supported them for decades.
Another thing I have noticed is all the corporate discounts offered to Grange members from National and wonder if there have been any strings attached.
