National Grange Convention Delegates! A shout out to all you good Brothers and Sisters from all over the country! As you probably know California has around a dozen or more representatives from all up and down the state attending National Convention this year in spite of the suspension of our State Charter. California can't vote, but we can talk and we can listen. There are 2 ears for every mouth there from California and we Grangers in California are as anxious to learn as we are to be heard. Please do not be afraid Brothers and Sisters to both speak frankly and listen carefully to these fine folks. You will be well received. I believe there is no State Grange in the Nation that is more hopeful of opening up communication channels with Grangers of all perceptions, persuasions and positions. These are exciting times and many of us believe that this year, 2012, may be one of the most important to the future of the Grange. Channels are clearing and the pipes are beginning to flow. The Patrons of Husbandry and its broad network of talents and resources, its deep and well rooted tradition, its documented history and lessons is now more important to the future of this country and world than perhaps it has ever been. What we do not have and yet need - we can create. What we have and yet preserved - we can make use of.
Be of good cheer, embrace your fellow Brothers and Sisters. Communicate, and do the hard and necessary work the Grange has for long generations hoped and trained us to do.
